I am tired of the BMW Advanced Car eye. I want something I can connect to using wifi and has a tonne of storage. My main gripe is it is too heavy and keeps falling off.

I have the strongest tape known to man it won't hold. I welded it to the windshield but I can see it creaking after 7 months - the longest it has been on.

Ideally something with a powerful super capacitor negating the need for a separate unit like battery magic.

Must be reliable AF. Cover front and rear. Have a decent app. I don't ask for much.

Any suggestions welcome.

I'm after one too, so I'm watching this thread.

The reason I haven't went for one is I don't like the current solutions where they are always obvious "add-ons". Much prefer a more integrated solution but I don't what to go for.

The closest I can find are those ones that are disguised as rear view mirrors, but how good are they really?

I've used Thinkware for a number of years now.

F750 great if a little bulky, F770 is perfect. Never once come unstuck, decent storage and app plus connects directly to the fuse box with no power magic rubbish.

Works fine for me and I've had 4.

Whilst expensive I have the blackvue 650 2 channnel - fitted it and forgot about it - works well and does what I need, might get a back up battery eventually as I do leave my car for a long periods in car parks but it's fitted quite descreatly and am very pleased with so far - app is pretty good to and if you have good wifi on your drive it will connect to your house wifi and can connect to it via the cloud :-)

I'm also keen to fit one. How easy are they to wire in? I though there was a hidden 12v socket under the dashboard under the glovebox, but I can't find one. Maybe I imagined it! I don't want to have to start taking trim apart. I also don't want lots of wires trailing all over the place to the 12v socket near the gear selector.

I have the thinkware f800pro.

Front and rear camera are great, hardwired to the car battery i get about 12 hours before the voltage drop cuts it off.... without any powermagic extras needed.

Easy to download footage using the wifi and audible notifications when i get to the car once parked is great. Even use the speed camera alerts... which are pretty good.

No problems with my DAB using the wiring across passenger roof lining.

Only downsides: Cloud notifications are a little flakey even with a good 3G mobile coverage.

Standard 32Gb is too small and bought half a dozen mico sd cards from amazon non worked, had to get the offical Thinkware one which was overpriced.

When you say cloud notifications. Is there a monthly subscription?

No subscription.... you do need to set it up to a wifi hotspot... I have a mimo 3g router in my car.... but i guess the otherway would be you home wifi of just want to know something happens/ someone moves it while you are home asleeep. can setup a geofence, (and track it on gps) not that i’ve used/ have a need for that.

One feature i was looking forward to was “remote viewing” while in parking mode... couldnt get it to work at the start of the year and then gave up!
