Interesting...the website claims the rockguard should be on F30 LCIs from 09/2014 until 03/2018 - am I reading that right? Mine doesn't and that cost me £700 due to a stone...

No no, read again. Rock guard was fitted as of mid December 2017

Did you just accept damage?
Did you kick up a fuss?

I'm keeping a sheet of details of people who have been impacted by this so please add details here or on the sheet.

My time? erm not much.
Company time? Probably quite a bit

I've made a number of phone calls and I've hung around waiting to speak to someone a few times.

A good number of posts on here and other forums but I'd do that for other stuff anyway.

I'd be less annoyed if they actually had replied by now but 13th --> 24th and I'm still hearing "we are waiting on BMW". They dont have the required part anyway so I'm going to be moaning for a while longer.

It's put me out more having to use a different car and re-arrange family stuff to get by with one car.

Assuming an hourly rate of £20 an hour (random number) I could spend 55 hours on this before it'd have made sense to just pay up. I'm nowhere near that! I've made under 100 posts on various forums about it. Thats maybe an hour. Few emails. Another half hour.

Well today I tried getting my car back from Coopers Reading and they couldn't let me take it because it was "in bits". Some of the trim was missing and they advised me not to take it with no coolant.

They then mentioned there was a code logged for "a dry pump failure". This code will have the mileage at which it was first logged which is either going to make me grumpy with myself OR it'll prove that it was broken before i bought it.

Glad it has shown a code. As you say, will prove either when it happened.

Did you say both A/C and intercooler were damaged? I take it the dry pump is intercooler only?

They say it only needs the intercooler. They say it is connected to the AC too.

Still working out good will contributions but I'm taking the car tomorrow regardless.

If it was like it before I bought it I'll be a right royal pain to Cotswold. If it happened since I got it I'll call them to apologise.

It's a bit odd that my coolant hasn't dropped at all since Thursday morning when I picked it up. It was refilled on Wednesday at the latest and the level has stayed static despite driving it.

I'm doubtful I have a hole.
Could be an EGR issue?

well I've just picked my car up from Marshalls in Hook and I've got a new radiator and new radiator mounts. Rock guards are on back order so I couldn't get those yet but when they arrive they will fit those too.

All done under warranty.

I had black grilles added whilst it was in, cost me £105 for that but that's okay.

Congrats on the happy outcome! Did it show a code from before you were the owner btw? Just out of curiosity

The code was logged the day they looked at it which I don't believe. It was bone dry, I filled it up, drove to the garage and the code registered at the mileage it was in the dealer. Sounds a bit iffy to me but whatever.
