Why no 265hp 3.0D in LCI

Does anyone know why the 4 LCI has not received the updated/uprated 3.0 diesel that is available in the 5.

No idea - but for £1k or thereabouts, you can get the MPPK fitted to your 430d, boosting the performance to 286hp and 600Nm
It's the same engine as in the 530d, I believe

The G30 gets the new B57 diesel.

Not always been immediate upgrades in the past, simply to have the latest engine type and top outputs. Model changes are often used to make a major engine change. Timing, production capacity are also reasons, even if an engine could fit.

When you say "new" B57 engine, is this an uprated version of the engine in the current 330d / old 530d, or a brand new engine altogether? Id understood it to be the former
Cheers

B57 is the new 'modular' engine design, first fitted in the G11 730d. Now rolled out to the G30.

N57N is the current 330d engine.

I think this is most unusual and will call my local dealer about it. Petrol have all been revised and a new diesel exists so why isn't it in.

Petrol engines are further advanced in their fitment to more models. B57 is a more recent release, may simply be a case of not yet adapted to the 3/4 series installations.

It won't be the first time there have been, what appears delays, in getting a new engine across the models.

BMW need to leave something in the bag for the G20 3 series when it's released next year.

Good point but undermining of the 4 considering the position of its lifecycle.
