Hello,

So I have been calling the BMW number to enter my production order number and check the status. I don't know where my car is but it says something about port... Anyhow, is there way to check my vehicle status in detail?

Also how do I get my VIN number from prod order number? I realized I can only get so much info using prod order #.

Your sales associate can give you your VIN. The MyBMW site will also give you the last few digits from the production number once it has information about it, which seems to take a while.

I have a same problem, though. I created a MyBMW account, and for a long time entering the VIN or production number would tell me that the car is unrecognized. Now when I enter it it gives me the menu to enter the purchase date and mileage, which I obviously don't have because the car is still in Germany. I would expect it to recognize that the car is still in production.

How do other people track their car production? I read the entire tracking thread and the website options mentioned there don't seem to exist anymore.

I'm pretty annoyed actually since I was not able to confirm the options before the car went into production and I still don't know if it's right.

Same here. I don't have anything confimed except what sales just told me. Although now I can kind of see what is on my car through myBMW

You can see it? I still can't. Can you pretend I'm an idiot and walk me through exactly what you did to view your car on myBWM?

Whenever I put in my production number or VIN, it takes me to the page that asks me to put in where I bought the car and what the date and mileage were when I bought it. Obviously I don't have those because I didn't buy the car yet. Did you just put in bogus values?

I inserted bogus values. 0 for miles and estimated time I "ordered" it through my sales person. After that, you will see Track my bmw or whatever on the left. I did this yesterday it lists all the options I have on my car.

Just note that when you FIRST check it, the options might be little weird. For me, it said my car has the blue accent trim, gloss trim, and the other ones as well. Everything else seemed to be fine. I checked again today and everything looks correct now.

Woohoo, I'm in. Thanks for your help. After doing the above I also had to log out and log back into the site before it gave me the upgraded "owner" settings.

BMWNA, if you're reading this: that website is an embarrassment. Customers doing special orders on such expensive cars should never be in the dark about the state of their order.

I somewhat had the same problem. Still have my '11 and I entered the new VIN once my CA had it. Once I did that, my whole account was screwed and I couldn't see *anything*. It would show my name as being signed in, but in the middle of the page there were blank areas asking for login again. I called the 800# and they were talking like I was crazy and escalated it to their IT dept. It finally resolved itself after a few days, dunno if their IT dept corrected it or whatnot, but that sucked!

I had the same thing happen to me, it took 3 weeks for the IT dept. to reset my account since I have my '12 X3. I can finally see what I've known for the
past weeks, that my GC is in transit to the US....

Saw that yours finally made it on board a ship. Mine hit the port on the 23rd. I know the Freedom left last night but I wasn't on it. The Independence leaves Thursday. I think mine should be going to Charleston, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, shipped after 10 days of sitting on a dock. West Coast ships are more rare, apparently. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that W&W could immediately find my car by VIN and mybmw site shows "En Route to the U.S."
