What happens when you change the chassis to sport? Stiffer suspension and steering or just stiffer steering?

You would feel the difference easily with the change in ride stiffness on any road imperfection.
If you can?t feel any difference i believe this would only affect steering (heavier in sport mode)

go here with your VIN: https://www.bmwvin.com/. Look for 2VF.
You can also look into the wheel well for the black tube sticking out of the strut. That's how i made sure the dealer/factory didn't mess up my order

All F30s give you the option to adjust "Drivetrain and Chassis" whether you have passive or adaptive dampers, in your case the "Chassis" part is mainly referring to the change in steering weight as someone above said.
And I'll second the notion that there is nothing sad about not having adaptive. In my opinion, the M Adaptive suspension is really great BUT it's a badly marketed feature, I find its main benefit is much smoother ride quality in Comfort mode than the passive Sport or M Sport cars. The M Adaptive in these cars is not nearly as good as in actual M cars, it's a little too floaty and bouncy at the same time. The funny thing is BMW's dealership training documents refer to M Adaptive as an option designed to improve ride comfort but they sell it to customers as part of the "Track Handling Package" so I personally thought it would have been a little firmer and sportier. |

I wonder if I have adaptive suspension too..
S704A M Sports suspension So I guess they aren't adaptive, which means I can lower without getting a warning light?

Stock sport suspension is great! I am still impressed with the compromise it offers. Good, both on track and horrible Chinese B-roads.

For Models with adaptive suspension it stiffens the suspension too. For Models without it, it just stiffens the steering. |

I have a xLine 340i - not an M Sport. The window sticker for the car says its has DDC - Dynamic Damper Control. None of the codes on the spec sheet indicate 2VF or say anything about the suspension.
The suspension does get noticeably stiffer in Sport/Sport+ than Comfort. Wife can always tell when I switch modes based on the ride feel (of course not to mention the exhaust noise). |

I had the Eibach Pro Kit installed a week ago, with the stock shocks (separate thread on this forum).
I had the tech verify and confirm that I do in fact have the Standard suspension. Nothing dynamic or electronic. So for like a year I was driving around imagining the suspension got stiffer in Sport. |

I got the B6 damptronic and some H&R springs and I'm very happy with the ride and the ability to switch between modes, but sometimes I feel I just should have gotten a pair of normal coilovers like the B16 street and coded out the adaptive function. Probably would have been about the same.

S2VF
Stupid question probably but I'm new to bmws. I picked up an f30 335i M Sport and when I put the VIN in the decoder it says I have "S2VF - Adaptive M Chasis" is that the same as 2VF? Do I have the adaptive suspension? I noticed pretty much all the codes have an S in front of it but as stated above it just says adaptive m chasis nothing about electronic dampers or anything. Any help would be great! Thanks from the noob
