A few portrait test shots

Just a few portrait shots I did for practice outside...only took about 10 photos total, these are a few that I liked

Comments and critique welcome

Great camera. Things come out so clear.

Overall framing and depth is well controlled but they look soft to me.

2/3 is the same I assume with a different crop but still doesnt look 100% tack sharp. What was the lens/body combo?

was with the 5dmkii and 70-200 is l (all in iso100 handheld)

they are quite resized however without any sharpening done to them whatsoever

all shots taken @ f2.8 as well, probably could have slightly better dof if I had notched it up a bit to get more detail on the faces. but I was running out of the restaurant and they werent very still subjects

going to try some hockey shots today indoors...should be interesting

Light looked good so maybe try stopping down and going to f4.

Try something about 50mm if you have it. Something seems a bit off with these shots to me. Cant put my finger on it. Let us know how the hockey goes.

Great shots, but like you mentioned, there could have been more detail on the mugs.
