MY 2017 340xi vs 2016
high everyone, I'mnew to this forum. I posted the same question as a response in another thread, but thought it made more sense to start a new one.
I decided to jump ship from Infiniti and get a BMW 340xi M sport, and track package. I was considering a new Infiniti q. 50 red sport 400, but frankly, it is time for her change My question is, is it worth waiting for the 2017 mile year versus likely getting a better deal in 2016. The tech in my current q. 50 is quite great, and ive gotten used to having all the fun bells and whisltes. I read that the Idrive 5.0 is pretty good. Does anyone have details on this? What would you guys do? My lease is up at the end of October, so i can tolerate the build process. thanks for your time Last edited by chicagoshark; 05-26-2016 at 09:35 PM.. |

If I were you I'd look for a leftover 2016 or perhaps exec demo if you don't mind a few miles. I would not pay up and lose the 2016 maintenance for an enhanced iDrive.

At some point in late August - early September you should be able to visit a dealership, compare the actual cars and make the decision in time to get the new car right as your lease expires, even if you decide to place a custom order.

I likewise jumped from a 2009 G37 to a 340iX/M Sport/Track package last year, and couldn't be happier with the decision.
I don't think there's firm details out yet on the MY 2017 updates, but Apple Carplay is rumored. Doubtful much will change, though the maintenance program updates (downgrades) are worth considering. If you want to build your own, you'll have to rush to get a 2016, since they'll start production in July on the 17s.

MY2016 340i already makes that amount of power anyway, if not even more

I asked my CA, he could not confirm that 2017 will drive underwater. It might be until 2018. We shall see. The Canadian versions will not be able to drive underwater, that part is confirmed.
