Upgraded from japanese to a german car

Hey guys, Im new to the forum, i recently bought a cpo bmw 328i xdrive luxury line, it has every option, so far im really happy with it, except the diesel sound coming from the fuel injectors, any ideas on how to make it more quite? Or maybe i should upgrade my exhaust to get rid of the diesel sound? Getting an exhaust would that void my warranty? Any help is appreciated thanx

Very few issues with just changing the exhaust, shouldn't be a problem. However if you had a concern you could always get the BMW M Performance exhaust for your car. BMW part so no worries.

BMW N20 engine can be noisy but it's normal and unfortunately there isn't anything one can do. Just enjoy the car! More pronounced / assertive exhaust sound is always a good idea regardless of the reason. Take a look at Akrapovic exhausts.

Thanks for the advice, I will look into Akrapovic exhausts and hear how they sound..

Glad you are happy, but I hope the dealer didn't tell you that it has "every option", because looking at your pix, it definitely doesn't.

Glad you are happy, but not for nothing, looking at your pix, it doesn't have close to "every option". Not sure what your dealer told you.
Sorry let me rephrase lol it has all the options I wanted... dakota leather, premium package, heads up display, technology package, cold weather package, driver assistance package and etc..

Congrats on the car. As mentioned N20/N26 are noisy. Good little engine though with plenty of power and decent fuel economy. Go with the BMW performance if you want more sound.

You said you upgraded from a Japanese car, which car did you have previously?

I upgraded from a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, I still have it, I use it as my daily driver, the Bmw I use when I go out or on long drives and mainly during the summer. I always had Japanese cars and I love how reliable they are and cheap. Im just hoping my bmw is as reliable as my past cars, as I mentioned it is CPO and good for 3 more years. The bmw is deff more comfortable to drive in long drives and its a lot faster, it has a lot more options than my eclipse. One thing I love about the eclipse is that the shocks are so tight and stiff I love that, my shocks on my bmw are softer as it is a sedan and maybe because its an xdrive it needs to be more comfortable, with the eclipse I just feel the road more and the car is like a rock no squeeks no nothing, I will be keeping my eclipse forever I dont plan on selling it, my bmw Im going to keep for 3 more years till its paid off and warranty runs out than sell it

The XDrive is definitely going to feel softer than your eclipse. It's a luxury type sedan after all. The optional sports suspension helps, but if you really want that road feeling and steering back, your not going to get it unless you get aftermarket suspension and keep that steering in comfort mode. Despite what you may be led to believe, the "sport" mode of the steering just increases the resistance, and to me it just makes it feel even less connected.

Thanks! Got it last night and of course it started snowing immediately. So haven't had any good light to take pics yet. I'm collecting my thoughts so I'll make a post probably tomorrow.
