Rear Bumper Tapped

Unbeknownst to me by rear bumper got tapped in a parking lot. As you can see in the attached photo there is an impression of a couple of washers. A couple of inches to the right of that is a vertical depression. I went to a ding removal place and, not surprisingly, the guy said he couldn't fix it and I needed a body shop. I wonder if anyone has experience with bumper repairs short of a full bumper cover replacement and repaint.
Thanks.

Aww man. Dreaded front license plate screw/bolt indentation. Bastards. I don't think there is much you can do short of a body shop fix ....and park as far away from all the morons as you can.

I've had minor bumper damage inflicted on my car a few times in the past 3 years. Each time it has cost about $800. They fill the holes, sand, repaint the entire bumper and reclear the entire bumper. Cheaper spot repairs are available from some vendors but it probably wont be a durable as the more expensive method.

~$2600 for a brand new painted oem bumper with labor which you will not need. So you can smile about that

My wife wonders why I take the last spot on a street if possible. Figure if someone taps the car, they get MY license plate's mark of disapproval in THEIR car for getting that close. I typically overthink where I'll park but keeps the bumper damage to a minimum I think.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am trying a spot repair on Friday for $150. If I'm not happy with that I'll pursue getting the whole bumper cover repaired, painted and clear coated.

Had the same happen to me at a stop light. I should get my car back from the dealer this week and will let you know how it looks. Like everyone else said, they are sanding it down, filling it, and painting it - $700. Fortunately the guy who did it is taking responsibility.

Well the mobile bumper repair guy came this morning. It was pretty amazing. He had a Ford Transit truck outfitted with paints, a compressor, spay gun, respirator, heat gun, etc. He sanded, filled and primed a few times, then finish coated and clear coated. So far the job looks perfect. The whole job took about 50 minutes.

If anyone at the Jersey Shore is interested please let me know and I will pass his contact info along. He told me most of his work is for dealers. I think he was a true professional.

Idk seems kinda sketchy as far as quality of paint.

Then again I'm super anal about swirls.
