Hope you're not planning on AWD and F-Sport, because I do believe you cannot have both together. AWD only is available with the even more hideous non F-Sport styling!

No you can get an F-Sport in AWD. It won't have the sport suspension (much like the AWD F30 with the M-Sport package). It also won't have the 8 speed automatic, it'll have a 6 speed unit instead.

I wonder how different the trans and suspension are.....for some reason I thought the f sport still had modified suspension.

Was it a RWD only model? Those have the sport suspension standard (adaptive is optional). AWD F-Sports have the same suspension as non F-Sports as standard (which makes sense), but also ditches the 8 speed auto. The IS350 AWD F-Sport may have the adaptive suspension available as an option.

The window sticker sent to me has the above verbiage. Perhaps this car that I'm looking at does in fact have it? Seems like if you slap the package on it you get the suspension. Agree the trans is only a 6sp regardless.

A coworker of mine just got a IS250 sport and to be honest I am pretty impressed with the car. It is very aggressive looking, even the 250 has split dual exhaust pipes. I didn't get to drive it but the look and feel of the car was excellent.

What surprised me the most was the interior. I had been in the old IS350 and I thought the interior was so-so maybe comparable to the interior of my C63 which I considered crappy. This new IS has a much nicer interior. Softer feeling leather and even the dashboard has leather stitched across it covering the gauges. This is usually an extended leather option or only on the higher trim cars BMW offers (6 series, 7 series).. which is a nice touch. I personally think the interior is nicer then my F30 335i M Sport, and that was comparing the interiors side by side.

Oh and for what its worth, the owner of the IS was a girl lol, but that shouldn't say much because around my area most 3er owners are women.

Thanks for that post....

250 women 350 for men. like 328 vs 335 (or so Ill tell myself that in case I get either LOL). Thing is the 3 series regardless of motor look the same and so many more women drive them then men around me....not that it matters, just noting. I actually think the interior is what I love about the Lexus. Again gonna try to drive it tonight or Monday. I feel like the incentives are sooooo good, what if they drop off next month? But if BMW gets better (one can only hope) then that sweetens the deal and id be closer to budget on a 4. Maybe I should consider a 2 and have the fun factor get a 228, its cheap, and call it a day JK (kinda)

Since you're looking at a two door it seems like ideally, why not check out the new RC Lexus when that comes out? Then compare that with the 4 Series.

.0008 (1.92) for 27mon 72% LEXUS
.0013 (3.12) for 36mon 62% BMW

If you do the math for a similar 50k car your at $535 on a bmw vs $443 on a lexus and thats 36mon vs 27mon! Decent savings....almost 100bucks!!!

Which back seat has more sex space?

Sometime this year I think, and as far as I know, the RC is just an IS coupe so I'd imagine it'd come in AWD variants.

I can't even imagine comparing the two. The new IS is the ugliest car I have seen from lexus since the SC430. I understand that's subjective to the person, but come on. The Nike swooshes on the front end and that droopy back end that matches neither the front or sides? Also the shitty garmin sized nav screen and utterly ridiculous mouse-like control knob. This of course ignores the 10 year old tech they have in their engines....... 200hp V6? LOL

Just look at this front end....what the hell is this crap?

Interior-wise, I prefer my 335i M-Sport's interior to anything from Japan.

I don't see ANY Lexus as a true competitor to BMW - maybe as a "wannabe", but definitely not in the same category. Lexus leans more towards the luxury side as opposed to performance, or they'd have a much better powertrain, and more than one choice of engine. Like everyone else says, the proof is in the test drive and it's whatever suits your personal preferences.
This brand whoring is getting old. I suppose an Audi is just an overpriced VW. I don't see how the IS is not a "true competitor" to the 3 Series. Most everyone I know considering a 3-Series cross-shops the IS (and vice versa). Most professional comparison tests for years pitted the 3-Series against the IS or the 5 Series against the GS, and I am really looking forward to how the RC F will fare against the M4. But I suppose through your brand prejudice eyes, it's just a Toyota.

Agree. When lexus came out I was always calling it a Toyota. Years later I dont even pay attention or remember its the same company. The car is totally different. I'm going to try to drive one tomorrow or monday.

I know you were addressing roundel355, but no brand prejudice here and I completely agree with what he said. Currently own Audi and BMW. I just don't like the way the IS looks (or any Lexi for that matter), and I don't think I'm alone in that opinion. If you like it then super, and we'll agree to disagree, but don't call everyone that dislikes the IS a brand whore...
