Feedback on Rack Handling Package?
I'm ordering a 340i, and I am requesting owner feedback on VSS and the M Sport brakes - your likes and/or dislikes. Thanks.

Hahaha...sorry for the typo, but love the humorous responses. ?
Thanks for the feedback. I have researched VSS and the M Sport brakes ad nauseam. I have also driven several 328s/340s with both options. What I experienced during my test drives was that I tendency to oversteer on some highway curves due to VSS. So, I guess what I'm asking is - do owners that have VSS like and adjust to the tendency to oversteer due to the varying nature of VSS? Also, do the M Sport brakes really put out significantly more dust than the standard 340/BMW brakes? I appreciate your feedback and perspectives. ?

I have VSS on a 2015 and I don't like it. While it feels weighty at lower speeds the rack is abruptly quick at highly speeds, almost feeling twitchy. I've had my car for over a year now and I still don't like it. It's the worst part of the car by far IMO.
I haven't driven VSS on the 2016, perhaps it has improved? |

I bought a 2016 340i WITHOUT the THP.
Reasons: (1) didn't care for the VSS. (2) the reason the wheels offered with the THP are gray (or mostly gray) are because the brakes dust up that much (3) the adjustable shocks are - IMO - a sub-standard design when compared the the GM Magnetic system. |

My opinion: you can make subjective arguments to the benefits of everything except the adaptive suspension...and maybe brakes depending on intended use/looks.
Order with adaptive suspension at the very least

I agree that the M Adaptive suspension is a must for my needs.
The M Sport brakes are a nice to have, even if they produce more brake dust (both previous BMWs produced a lot of dust without upgraded brakes). I like the 18" 398 wheels with PSS (great tire), but I like the look of the 19" 442 M wheels a little better (but are 19s and come with the RFT). It's the VSS that that I'm unsure about. I get the technology. I'm just not sure it translates to the real world. Some love VSS, and some hate it. I'm just not sure which camp in in, yet. I appreciate all the feedback.

It is supposed to have more servo assistance at lower speeds and reduce assistance with increased road speed. |
