Unhappy Slime Smart Spair Emergency Tire Repair Kit

I'm on vacation in the mountains about 30 miles from the nearest tire repair center. I got a screw in one of my brand new Conti tires (not in the sidewall). I expected my relative to bring a jack and lug nut remover from Autozone like I asked, but instead, he brings me the "Slime Smart Spair Emergency Tire Repair Kit" from Autozone.

Does anyone have any experience with anything like this product? Would I be doing more harm than good to the tire by using something like this?

I called AAA because I have a Plus account with them and they said their 3rd party service up here in the mountains doesn't patch tires on-site and they would have to tow the car to a location which they couldn't tell me where it was going to be towed, so I cancelled the service call.

Should I just get someone to help me remove the tire, get a ride over to a real tire repair shop to get it patched, then place it back on the car?

Here is the kit in question:

Thanks

From what I understand, the slime actually gets in the way of real tire repair. I used it once as a quick fix and my tire store said it was impossible to clean out and wouldn't do it/repair

You could try a plug kit. I have used one several times. It is said you should have it fixed later by a professional, but I have never done that and have had no issues.

I also have BMW's Tire and Wheel Warranty by the way. I did end up using the Slime since I'm at a house not on an actual paved road in the middle of nowhere. I think it worked. It's definitely not leaking.

I might take it to BMW for a replacement tire. I think this is a warranty issue since the sidewall didn't even stay up at all. It's pretty clear that there is a flaw in this tire.

Can you report back once you take it to BMW?
I'm interested in the outcome.

I've heard the slime repair stuff is bad to use because it causes the tire to become unbalanced.

I have no idea if this is true or not.

I took my car in yesterday to the dealership (takes long time to get an appointment down here) and got an email this morning from my service guy saying that they will replace the tire. Good news!

I spoke with a manager at Firestone before my appointment at BMW and he said the slime can cause a vibration to be felt inside the vehicle but is harmless. He also said they don't patch tires or clean them if that slime is inside.

I could imagine how the sheer weight of an 18 oz. bottle of heavy slime sitting inside the wheel could unbalance it since they have those small weights stuck all over the wheel already for balance.

Got my car back from BMW. Had to pay a $50 insurance deductible for the flat tire. The single tire was $433 including labour. Only paid $50!!!
