Hub centric or lug centric?
I bought a set of oem 17" wheels to replace my 18's in the winter. I'm going to get the winter tires mounted tomorrow and am curious if I need to have a new centering ring installed? can they install the ring without the car present?

While you probably already got the wheels installed, it doesn't hurt to answer in case someone else searches and comes across this thread
Newer OEM BMW wheels will have a center bore of 72.56 (72.6) - this is the same size as the hub on your vehicle. Thus, no hubcentric rings will be required for installation. If hubcentric rings are required for wheels with a center bore larger than 72.6, the rings can insdeed be installed into the wheels without the car being present. |
