bms stage 1 install knowhows.
i got my stage 1 in mail today. I fast got to installing it.
first time removing battery. easy peasy. 1st harness. turns out my motor is n26 so right on to harness number 2. I got stuck right here. the instruction indicates that I should press "lightly" on release clip. the thing wont budge eveb if I press hard! tried wiggling it while pressing it. still wont budge. tried to work other harness as well but it seems like they are all equally as tight. maybe im pressing it wrong though it seemed pretty idiot-proof. aany one who had a problem installing it seemed to have had a problem removing the battery but not the harness.. i feel so dumb right now any tips? i dont want to break the wirings since I finger-slapped the wires pretty hard a couple of times lol

okay managed to install it!
You know what you can do is, slide a flat head driver under where the release clip clicks on, and push upward gently as you push downward on the clip head with your other hand. left hand /w flat head screwdriver PUSH UP (slide under where the clip clicks on) right hand PUSH DOWN on the release while PULLing the plug. this method has no chance of breaking or damaging the plug/wires what so ever. so anyone having simliar problem, should try this

I hate these things. Sometimes squeezing hard on the plug sides will help since it essentially deforms the plug. Just make sure there's no pressure on the clip. i.e. push it in first. Whether it works depends a lot on the plug type, thickness, tolerances, and your level of finger grip. I think the key is to not have lateral/pulling pressure on the clip when trying to release it.
Props to BMS on their plug releases! |
