Hi PandaNL,

You have created an excellent tool. Thank you for this great work

One thing you should add is a reference list for Module names.
Module names should be controled because people added several time the same module with a similar but not equal writing.

It reduces the efficiency of your tool because different (and sometimes the same) codes are spreaded under several module which are finally the same.

By exemple : FEM_BODY module is visible as
- FEM_BODY (that's normal )
- FEM-BODY
- FEM-Body
- FEMBODY
- fem body

For me it's the most important evolution . But it's a lot of work because the actual content of the database must be normalized with this new rule.

Thank you for your input, this is indeed a problem.

Do you have a full list of all modules? I have a F21 and will check e-sys to get the correct module names, but I don't know if it will contain all modules that every F series have.

Just updated the BMW Coding Database to version 1.4, I added a tab to create a profile for each car you code. It will save the profile to an xml file inside My documents under a folder called BMW Coding Database.

To update op the application and click in the top right side on the exclamation mark and click on install update.

I just installed the tool and will code my 2015 320i. I have to open my checkpoint firewall at home to tcp 3306.

I also need to code my 2015 X5. Do you have the required codes list for F15-2015 X5?

Thanks!

Would you consider adding R53 and R56 to the E series drop down? Would love to have some Mini support!

Thanks a lot. I'm going to try my hand at adding some features when I get my cable ordered. Any good tips before I start so I don't mess anything up?

Thanks.

Thanks.
Just the usual tips:
  • never select code default values
  • do not select "code" after selecting svt folder at top of tree
  • stick to known coding to start
  • cheat sheets are chassis specific but coding is hardware specific; the ladder goes for Ecu's as well as hardware like headlights
  • know the difference between fdl- and vo-coding and how to reset back to factory
  • figure out whatever system works for you to keep track of changes
  • run engine while coding (except for dme/dde which you should not be touching anyways) to ensure adequate voltage

I rarely use anymore, but seems to load fine for me. Did you try reinstalling?
