My 335i sportline finally arrived. I can pick it up next tuesday:
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=624272

But take a look at this: My F30 is definitely EU spec and has the US spec(?) gap for the radiator at the rightside near the foglight...
I'm fine with that, but can anybody help me out why?

To me, this unfinished opening and the lack of foglights on US spec M-Sport cars is really unfortunate.

I can't imagine that both could not be rectified so that the opening has a better looking cover AND the US M car could also have foglights.

I have a long list of gripes about the new F30 and both these are on the list along with black mirrors, xenon/prem pkg. cost, and others.......

Personally I love that it doesn't have fog lights. Remember the early 90's when most BMW drivers felt a need to drive around with the fogs on 100% of the time?

More cooling is more cooling, don't stick a set of lights in the way. My wife's 135i doesn't have fogs, just nice brake cooling tracts. I prefer this.

We lived in SoCal where the marine layer got pretty thick some mornings, but her car without fogs never had issues with visibility and my M Coupe, even with fogs wasn't as clear. I won't miss them and think the M Sport looks perfect as is. I'm sure fogs will be a dealer installed option before long, for those that would prefer them.

Interesting.

I think all Sportline 335i will have the large air gap for the oil cooler.
The other discussions were for the 328i and its water cooler there.
"Hot Climate" version 328i also seem to have the large opening

It's the opening for the engine oil cooler, standard on every 335i.

Here you can see a Euro 335i Sport Line with the large opening at the F30 launch

To clear things up, the air inlet is open for all 335i's for the engine oil cooler. For 328i, the inlet is only open for cars with hot climate cooling system, & sitting behind the grill is a additional radiator.

Has been stated multiple times

Euro 328i can also get the opening with Trailer coupling and Auto gearbox

M-Sport also gets both oil cooler and additional radiator on the 335i

I pointed them out to the sales people there and they all agreed that something did not look right. After looking at press photos looks like they need some quality control over in Munich.

Nope. This is normal for additional cooling. Every f30 335i I have seen has this type of setup, including mine. The driver side does look a little different, it doesn't have that big opening for the oil cooler, but does have the duct for the brakes.

You said everything perfect but it's an N55 335i

To clarify, my 328i Sport Line has the extra cooling and thus the asymmetrical front bumper

Its normal... I just bought those pieces for my non-sport model... they sell partial open and open ones... I got the partial open for both sides...
