Are your bases rusty buckets?

No rust, yet. I've looked very quickly. Anyway, it's going back to get the driver's seat base fixed and they'll also have a really good look for this. Basically, what I can't see, I don't bother with. Otherwise, I'll lose the plot to an even greater degree.

Both car's are exactly the same, colour, spec. So they might have decided to build them together. Started her's in Oct finished it in Nov and gave it a build date of B45. Mine they probably brought forward by a couple of weeks. So they also gave it a B45 date. Or something like that, probably. Who knows how the Bavarian mind works.
Are you referring to the corner of the VIN decal? That "B"# has nothing to do with production date.

If you want to get an idea when you car was produced you can either check with dealer SA or just look under drivers seat and find decal on side rail near carpet by center console. This white decal has the build date of your seat. Seats are JIT production so this pretty much represents the assembly date of your car. I suspect you'll find your seat has a date code around 26-11-2012.

My car was produced November 8th and my seat says 07-11-2012. PW45.

Key fob sorted. The supplying dealer had not coded it. Took 10 minutes!

They also agreed the driver's seat base leather is faulty and needs fixing/changing. Compared it with another new car with perfect Coral Red seats. Booked in for 8th January. Superb service from Berry's West London.

What do you expect from a Berry? Always great service when there's a Berry involved

Keys are coded at factory and travel with car. Key operation is verified at VPC and corrected if there's an issue.

No reason for dealer to be coding keys on a new car. Unless one is lost...

I saw my car within minutes of it being unloaded from truck. White plastic on tops and plastic all over interior. Both keys worked.

I can just about imagine you being there at dealer delivery. You should also have tried to be there at its conception, thereby making it a perfect pregnancy!
