Help! Ordered X Drive Sport Line-Do I have sports suspension?
Hopefully someone here can help me. I ordered a 2013 335 X Drive sport line with Sport Auto trans and HK stereo and heated seats as the options. I want the sports suspension for the handling.
After reading some if the posts here it seems like I will not be getting the sports suspension with X Drive. Contacted the CA at the dealer today and they contacted BMW USA and told me I would have the sports suspension. I am confused. Is there a way to know for sure? Can they provide me with the actual spec sheet for my car? It's been built and is in transit. |

Yes, you get Sports Suspension, but no 10mm drop. The real sporty suspension is available via the Dynamic Handling Package. It's called M Adaptive Suspension.
Ask your dealer to pull you cars Vehicle Inventory Report. |

Unfortunately no. With xDrive, the closest you can get is the Dynamic Handling Package.

I was hoping I would still get the 704 Sports Suspension. The email quote from the CA today was:
".. have confirmed with BMW that yes it does have the sport suspension--Firm springs and shock absorbers." Sounds like I need to get the Inventory Report mentioned to confirm what I thought I was getting when I ordered the car- sports suspension. I would have ordered the adjustable suspension option if that was the only way to get the sports suspension. My concern is that the base suspension will understeer quite a bit. |

Base suspension is for housewives...reconsider the xDrive, order RWD with a port installed M Performance Suspension!

You are either very incorrect, or BMW's own website is lying.

Since I own one, I would know and I've done my research. The only way to get a sport suspension on an xDrive is to order the DHP. If you check further, you'll find out that xDrive deletes the 704 suspension.

xDrive with the dynamic handling package is what you need. I've driven both and see no advantage with rear wheel drive these days, especially if you live in an area of the country that has regular snowfall and freezing.
Snow tires and RWD? Buddy, this ain't 1980 no more... |

Junkyard is correct. This has been addressed many times and unfortunately BMW USA website is in error and it seems many CAs are misinformed. xDrive's DO NOT get sport suspension on sportline or msport. You can add adaptive suspension to get a sportier ride in sport mode but this is not standard. BMW needs to make this clearer.

Thanks I will try to get the vehicle inventory report tomorrow morning. I ordered in November and have a deposit down. Might lose some of the holiday cash and time if I have to reorder.....

Read the official BMW 2013 ordering guide for the 3 series. It clearly shows that xDrive Sport and M Sport lines DO NOT get the sport suspension (item 704) and the RWD Sport and M Sport lines do.
That document is official. The web site is not and has numerous errors. CAs are often spectacularly ignorant and just work off the bmwusa web site. |

I already went through this and had to re order. The CA is lying to you because they do not like to re order. My CA tried to lie to me until we got more into the conversation and he was shocked about how informed I was.

Somewhat related to this topic, shouldn't the Sport line option be cheaper on an Xdrive car since you don't get the sport suspension? Do you get something else in return you don't get on a RWD model? Or is it just because BMW things they can charge what they want for it?

Well, I raised up this question with my CA and she checked with the her regional sales rep. They insist that current production xDrive sport package cars have the sport suspension. Attached is the documentation they provided. I ended up telling them that the proof will be when the car arrives at the dealership in a few weeks and the 704 sports suspension is on the build info.

They just highlighted that the M and Sport lines contain the Sport suspension, it's not showing that xDrive models have them. (at least from your attachment). I'll be happy for you, and others, if that's the case...let's see!

It does say at the top that all current models have the following features except as noted. A bit hard to read but I didn't see any footnotes etc that note that the suspension is different.
I have requested the VIN number and will try and run through the decoder. |

I am in the process of discussing the very same issue with both BMWNA and my dealer.
The Web site clearly shows that 2013 BMW 335i xDrive Sport Line has Sport Suspension. The 2013 F30 ordering guide indicates that 'ZDH and ZSL will delete 704 from the order", i.e any order with ZSL Sport Line or ZDH Dynamic Handling Package will delete 704 Sport Suspension. My CA never shared this information with me during the order and I lost the opportunity to order ZDH Dynamic Handling Package. I had a very long conversation with BMWNA. BMWNA response was that they are not responsible for any Web site errors and told me that it's the dealer responsibility to make this right. Hardly a confidence inspiring response. The dealer response ranged from "we will order another vehicle for you" (the 4 month wait will begin again) to offering token discounts which make the entire matter of how much this particular dealer values customer relationship value even more disappointing. My wife wants an X5 and chances of me ordering her vehicle from this dealer are diminishing. I must admit that I haven never been more puzzled by both BMWNA response and the dealer's approach to address my concerns. Suggestions? |
