Correct to say no info on '18 340i packages yet?

Hey all.

I am finally in a place to trade up to a new car. My '08 e92 has treated me well...and I look forward to having a new one again. I have tried searching as much as my patience would allow, and just want to confirm my findings before I head to the dealer.

Basically, I am wondering if there has been any information regarding the 2018 340 potentially matching the new 440 lci packages and interior colors? The new packages actually work in my favor the way I want the car built, so I really hope the 340 gets the same packages. Here is a list of my questions:

I want the "white" leather, so just a question of name: ivory or oyster.

I know the 340 got the interior trim lci upgrades (gloss black inserts) for '17, so there likely won't be any changes there. But there is a new navigation ....and new finisher options like "dark carbon aluminum something or other"...

Suspension updates on 440 lci? Has anyone confirmed if the 440 lci suspension just matches the 340lci, or if it is a further change the 340 will have upgraded? I find it hard to imagine they would have different springs/struts, etc for adaptive on coupe, but not impossible, especially if just software changes to adaptive geometry.

Headlight upgrades to new adaptive led and drl design?

Thanks so much for any helpful info you all can provide. I have spent several hours searching, with no answers yet. Just can't do it anymore.

In case anyone is wondering (unlikely, but hey...whatever...lol) I am hoping for: alpine white, white interior, msport, executive, premium, adaptive suspension (stand alone), black grills, m perf splitter...

Well....68 views and no replies.haha.

Went to dealer today (South Miami BMW). They had no info on 2018 3 series, and had no allocations in their system.

Also, they said they had not yet received any 2018 440 allocations, coupe or otherwise. Not sure I believe that one based on this forum, but whatever.

For what it's worth, they had one remaining 2017 340 allocation that could be modified. This makes me think it has to be soon that the 2018 340 info is released.

I have not heard of any changes for the 340 for MY18.
The dark Carbon trim, which is new for the 440 I think, does look nice

I was at the dealership yesterday as I plan to take advantage of pull ahead program and time it so that I can take delivery in June with BMW taking over the 3 months remaining on my current M235i lease.

We went through the internal configurator system and then my CA made a phone call and told me that there are basically no offers or residual rate info or just about anything in the system. She assured me that they have plenty of allocation and could take my order, but with my needs on timing it wouldn't make sense to do anything until early April when they do anticipate having all that information readily available (guessing the online configurator for U.S. will be updated by then as well.) Worst case, she'll place the order for me with small deposit and we'll figure out incentives or pricing options later.

EDIT: I also want to note that they didn't have any samples of new interior or exterior options (they have a wall of paint & upholstery samples) for the 2018 LCI.

Brenzo, if you want to see the new interiors...they are available on other current models. The ivory looks nice, though I prefer oyster as it was a cool white, compared to the warmer tint of ivory. I believe the cognac is available on current suvs. (Unless you just meant they do not have specific samples for the 340 ...in which case ignore my comment.lol)

thanks for the info. Hopefully I actually get a call when the order bank opens. I will update this thread if/when that happens....

In the meantime, perhaps the new s4 will finally hit dealers...haha

So, I did look at samples of the oyster and ivory, but a 4" x 6" patch just doesn't do it justice and it's not the same as seeing it in person (and ideally in same model and/or exterior color combination you're look at.)

I'm set on Carbon Black for exterior, just don't know whether to go Oyster or Ivory. Big change with introduction of Ivory is that it includes the color-matched bottom half of the dashboard. My only concern is if it'll be too white in there.

Check out your local dealers' inventory online and make a trip to go sit in a car with the correct leather color. Since both ivory and cognac are standard colors for other models you should be able to find at least one of each.

I saw Ivory in an X5 (I think) and it was nice. But I def prefer Oyster...more white, less cream. I am not sure about the light "under dash" either, though I am not sure it will be there. I think only the Coupe and GC get the matching lower dash colors. That is the main reason I would never do Coral Red in the coupe...just too much red. I wish they would just leave the dash all black.

I may end up with Cognac and Alpine White. My saddle interior has aged extremely well over almost 9 years, and I am not sure white would last as well (though I am hoping to not have this one for 9 years again. lol). And I just cannot do black...so boring. My dad went from a 535 with Oyster to a 535 with black and it looks like a cave inside. (he had the dark blue exterior on both.)

With the black exterior I think either would be sharp, but Cognac reminds me of the classic Aston Martin tan leather...really nice. The Ivory looks a little dull compared to Oyster...let me know if you get to see it in person.

MY17 F30's end of production (EOP) is July of this year so I don't think we'll see any MY18 details until May/June.

Wish they had the option of the blue Dakota leather interior before - it looks awesome. I don't see why they wouldn't offer it for 3 Series as well... unless they want to keep it a 4 Series exclusivity (won't be surprising tbh).

I'd say go for the Oyster White but if you really want nice white interior, go for the Individual Opal White Merino Leather.

I don't think anyone can definitively say the suspension enhancements are equal to F30 LCI or better because it's not apples-to-apples comparison. Although, one thing I can say my previous 2015 F36 had a very subtle wobble in the rear suspension over bumps at times, I've never noticed that in my current 2016 F30 LCI; both cars with Adaptive M Suspension. Thing is, BMW makes subtle changes to suspension every so often within the same production year which they don't announce/publicize so I would take the "enhanced suspension in 4 Series LCI" a bit lightly I've read there was a huge jump between F30 pre-LCI and LCI, though.
