F30 leather choices, dakota, merino, true individual?

I'm toying with the idea of a new perfect spec 335d next year.

I really like silver with red leather. That's do-able with free options.

However the leather dakota is a bit average and for the price you may as well get the better stuff and extended and dash top etc.

But there is no red... or is there?

I see you can spec true individual paint, so can you spec true individual leathers too?

No, only options are those on the configurator.

Oh well that's put an end to that idea.

I was certain I'd seen a 3er with red under/around glove box.
Maybe it was a 4 GC?

The red leather used to have red plastic under the glove but it's now gone (thankfully).

I'm getting confused a bit now.

There is:

Leather (choice colours)
Individual leather (merino choice colours)
Dash leather (merino black)

So can you get the dakota red coral and then the dash in merino black?

I was just using broker4cars and I'm sure that wasn't an option on 3, but worked ok on 4GC.

Hmmmm?

Almost *anything* is possible with BMW individual, it'll cost you though

If you spec leather dash with Dakota leather seats the whole dash is black, if you spec leather dash with individual merino seats then the bottom half of dash is same colouras the seats.

You can go down a full individual interior if you really want, however it will be very expensive compared with the more standard options.

This sort of thing seems to be more popular with our friends across the Atlantic who are really into customising their cars. Although it has to be said most of those who go down this route do it to M cars.

Yeah I think red dakota with black leather dash will be ample at best.

I just didn't want to be missing something if I do go down this route.

I bet the custom interior is expensive, and ultimately not worth doing on a 3er, or even an M3.
The interior just isn't worth spending too much on.
But I do think the leather dash with coral dakota is a better compromise than merino and no dash leather as it's the colour I want and I get to see what I pay extra for!

That being said, red paint with black merino seats, or tanzanite with white merino are also nice combos.

I'll just have to see how desperate I am for hud, adaptive lights and adaptive susp next year and how good BMW deals get. Unless a perfect spec used one turns up.

If it's any help at all, here is Coral Leather & Leather Dash on a Glacier Silver car.

My 4GC build shows the red extended to the bottom of the dash. It was only built last week. (So havent seen it in the flesh yet.)

I don't know what possessed BMW to enforce the lower red dash on people if you want red leather seats on the 4 series, it just looks hideous.

However still not as bad as a Porsche with the entire interior in sand leather including the steering wheel.

Pretty sure these are the options:

1. Dakota leather plus fake leather-look dash (in red the lower dash is also red) (no cost)
2. Dakota leather plus optional leather dash (in red the lower dash is black) (900??)
3. Merino leather plus fake leather-look dash (1200)
4. Merino leather plus optional merino leather dash (2,200ish total)
5. Fully individual leather interior plus options for dash (v.expensive)

I was looking for the perfect spec too. Got everything I wanted except Grigio Telesto grey exterior as I couldn't justify spending any more.

Sorry I've probably not been clear on the two main trains of thought.

I'd like the right spec 3er, if I can justify the cost next year, before they stop making them. And hopefully get a good deal too.

There are no other BMWs on my radar, given where BMW are going, so I'd like to get an f3x in the perfect spec now before it's too late.
Given how hard it is to even find a decent spec AUC, finding the perfect spec will never happen.

Now if the new 3er is amazing I'd still wait till LCI and probably prefer used so I've got years to wait. May as well get the right 3er now if I can?

Given how great the colour and finish combo is in the pics Grant posted I'm sold on the idea of getting one for that alone.
Sad but true, it's the same colour combo as my 2004 Z4 and my wife and I both love the combo.

As much as EB with black is ok, it really does come to life with more metallic in the outside and a bit of colour on the inside!
