Key housing replacement
Hi all
So in the space of two weeks I have managed to scratch the hell out of both keys. Is it possible to open the key up and replace the external plastic parts and if so where would it source them from? I have the "Smart" type key with blue accents. Thanks in advance Steve |

What's a "smart" type key, out of interest?

Its one that is not actually a key that you put in the car but one that stays in your pocket.
I can also do long division..... Knowing how BMW are with their optional extras, I was not sure if this was a standard feature or not. |

Ah OK, that's a standard key. Unfortunately I have no idea where you might obtain just the casing.

Try looking on Realoem, that will tell you whether BMW sell the plastics separately. I'm leaning towards BMW saying the key needs to be bought as a whole, but you never know.
