Adaptive suspension, parts & problems..

Hello all!
My F31 recently developed a problem by the sound I would guess a strut mount at the front. On turning the steering wheel first thing in the morning I hear a donk noise coming from the front of the car. It doesn't always make the noise but if it does it is always first thing. In addition if you drive slowly <10mph it sound like somethings quietly rattling almost like going over really small cobbles but with no feel/vibration at all- everything feels completely normal. My car has adaptive suspension & a good google search doesn't seem to show up top mounts??? I have found plenty but they all say not for EDC Am I potentially looking at complete new shock absorbers?

Many thanks,

Could be the steering rack. Try gently rocking the steering wheel when the car is stationary and with engine running, just enough to feel resistance off dead-centre, and listen for knocking/clicking.

If that's what you hear, the rack may have some wear on the internal components and will be a warranty repair. Very common, but not dangerous in its current state.

If it's not the steering rack then could be an ARB drop link. I had a slight knock that could only be heard at low speeds and that's what it was, and it was replaced under warranty.

Thanks for the replies Ill check all those things. Does the adaptive suspension system have separate strut mounts or is it a one part shock absorber?
I ask because I can't seem to find any anywhere?

This post is very timely!! Mine knocks when you rock the steering while stationary, does that mean the steering rack needs replacing? Will i get fobbed off with a ‘they all do that sir’ if i take it to the dealer??
