MY 2013 US-spec M-Sport brakes?
This thread is for MY 2013 US-spec M-Sport cars.
I've been reading older threads on the M-Sport brakes and I'm still not clear on the kind of brakes that are supplied stock with this car. It's obviously not the same as the regular brakes since it's more dusty but it also appears different than the non-US M-Sport brakes because it's not painted blue. So what is it? |

the only difference in the US is the msport package gives more aggressive pads - hence the increase in dust and stronger "bite"

Please give me the US Sport pads. This dust is seriously annoying! How often do you need the extra 2 feet of stopping distance? The dust just isn't worth it!
And that's after putting a coat of Wheel Wax and Meguiars Brake Dust Barrier. Still annoying and ugly! BMW should have coated the wheels with teflon! |

I've noticed you often have info on parts and stuff, where do you get this from, is there a website for that? |

The real M-sport brakes (i.e. option 2NH) is so far not available in the US (but available as factory option in Canada). Option 2NH is the factory upgrade u're talking abt, & they're identical to the M-performance brake except for the caliper colours & disc surface. The parts info can be obtained from realoem, they have the parts catalogue online. |

EU 335i regular & M-Sport -> "dusty" brakes US 335i regular -> Some other "non-dusty" brakes US 335i M-Sport -> European "dusty" brakes And finally: EU 335i M-Sport + option 2NH -> Upgraded blue brakes |

Yes, that's correct. The US non-dusty brakes are just the pads, no other difference.

Sorry for the simple question, but can someone clarify the size of the 3 brakes?
Right now I am looking at the brochure for the 2013 3er and cannot find the size differences between the various models. Please clarify: 328i and 328xi have fixed front and rear calipers, disk size? 335i and 335xi have 4 piston floating front and fixed rear, disk size? I know that the M-Sport package does not change the size of the brakes, but includes the higher performance pads. What are the specs of the M-Performance brake upgrade? Ok, last question...are the brakes on XDrive models any different than those of RWD cars? |

The M Sport specs are for the non-US markets. US market 335i M Sport has same hardware as stock with a different pad. US market 328i M Sport gets the stock 335i hardware and pads. |
