Horn
Just sounded my horn and the most weedy high pitched sound came out. Like something a bicycle horn would produce.
Anyone know if this is normal? I only had it serviced last week so there weren't any faults showing up then |

It's a two-tone horn; suspect the lower-pitch unit is not working.

Seems to be a common problem. As above, it's a twin horn and your big blower has blown, leaving just the little fella to squeak.
Dealership job

Only takes about an hour to give you a 'fresh' horn.
My one failed after a few months. So, a few seconds of use...

Funnily enough, I've got one of the earliest F30's, it's done 63,000mls, had a completely new engine, but the horn has been as loud and aggressive as the day it was new

Got my horn fixed today, boy did I miss it. Needed a complete replacement in the end.
Less pleasing was my 116d courtesy car. It rode more smoothly than my f30 on winters! Feels like it should be the other way around! |

I had to have my horn replaced last week. Can you believe the dealer wouldn't even entertain the idea of a courtesy car.. I had to walk two miles to a tube station because they didn't have any drivers to hand.

How long did it take to complete job and did they have to order in the part: i.e. did your car have to go in once for diagnosis and once for the fix?

I played my horn down the phone and the service guy said he instantly knew what it needed, after he stopped laughing. Took a couple of hours to repair.
