F30 335 - Exhaust and Downpipe - now with video!
As a follow up to our general product development thread here: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=654924 We have been testing our catback for the F30 335 over the past week. We are playing with some different canisters to get the right amount of sporty sound with no droning or excessive noise. The exhaust will used full 3in piping front to rear ( the OEM pinches down to 2.5in in the front areas) with a dual outlet canister and 3.5in exhaust tips Once we add the catless downpipe, it'll add some more aggressive sound as well as a good bump in power im sure
Here are a few shots we took the other day once the weather cleared up a bit. We'll take some more shots of the exhaust once we have a more finalized version to show. Video of cold start, to idle, reving, then a quick take off clip! Enjoy Newest video: Challenge Sport catback Exhaust with Challenge downpipe with High Flow Cat. The downpipe added a good amount of grunt down low and in the midrange without adding any additional noise at crusing speeds. The cold start is now a bit louder than before and the over all exhaust note is a bit deeper with a hint of turbo noise in it When the Ecu is put in sport mode, you also get a bit more burble and poping noise off throttle Last edited by GTM_Challenge; 06-05-2012 at 05:27 PM.. |

Just got some of the prototype machined parts for the down pipe and exhaust for the 335 as well as the aluminum ends for the intercooler. These aluminum couplers will allow the use of the OEM special clip in quick connectors for an OEM fit!

Took some go pro videos from the rear of the exhaust on the street at wide open throttle, start up, and some casual driving. We'll try to get them posted mid next week. We are moving to our new facility at the moment!

Thats it, GT motoring you guys have to paint that 335i, Cause every time I look at it I go damn that new part looks so good on the alpine white I have to get it... Long story short your going to break my bank and my promise that I wouldn't put any money into this car Bhahaha!
Looks sick though, please pm when you have a down pipe, I want to just go down pipe and chip rather than the whole exhaust... I say this until you tell me you have the exhaust w/black tips to match oem and then I will have a turbo back exhaust on order
