Personally I would not dare risk my warranty with any sort of aftermarket tune. I don't care what anyone says, I won't even do a Dinan tune as there is inherent risk in that. Hopefully, they keep my car for a week then install it for free.

So did I. This is why I'm happily confused. It's not a raging fbo car but its far more powerful than I anticipated. I'm looking at my jb3 right now so I know I didn't forget to take it out lol

Just called the parts department at a nearby dealership and they were willing to price match the $935 (no DME) from getbmwparts. For labor, I was quoted $171/hr for 2 hrs ($342). I was trying to explain to the service tech that my car's build is 11/12 and it should only take 0.5 hrs based on the brochure (2 hrs is for pre 11/12 that needs the new DME). He said he doesn't know about that and at best it would take 1-2 hrs and they would have to check with the parts department since it took them 2 hours to install the PPK on a loaner car (demo car). I'm guessing the loaner was a pre 11/12 build that required a new DME so they estimated the install time based on that. So I'm looking at between $1112.35 (0.5 hrs) to $1391.93(2 hrs) total after tax depending on install time.
Gonna check out other dealerships before scheduling to do it here.

For those in Canada, the price has been readjusted for Canada. I am paying $1595 all in (parts, taxes, install) WITH DME. 09/12 Build.

BMW canada has re-adjusted the pricing. Given the insane price disparity vs. the US, it's good to see that BMW canada has come to their senses...

You guys shouldn't feel too bad - I've received quotes from about five BMW dealers here in Australia ranging from $3300 to $6300!!
The guy quoting $6300 was nice enough to offer $3900 if I didn't need the DME...how nice. 1 Aussie Dollar = exactly 1 USD at the moment. |

Sports Display after MPPK installation question.
Hello all! After a 4 day wait, I just finally got my 335i back from Taylor BMW in Evans, GA. Apparently they had never done a PPK installation on an F30 before and that triggered a ton of reasons why it took this long for the installation - well...I got that off my chest!. For those of you who have had this installation done...do you also have the sports display (hp/tq) enabled? My 335 is a sport line and I was hoping to have this enabled as per the brochure but the dealer here has no clue. Any advice? I want to get everything that I paid for and lack of knowledge is not a reason for me not to have this feature enabled.

I'd have them look up a TSB/SIB and verify it was downloaded correctly. OF NOTE, you can also go to your 'Profiles' section under settings, and RESET your profile, and the new Sports Displays should automatically populate (if you haven't done this, do it first, and if it still doesn't show up, they did something incorrectly)...
