F10 wheels and tires

From what I've read here, it seems this will work, but a reality check would be really helpful. I have a chance to pick up a set of wheels and tires and want to be sure that there won't be any issues with them on my F30 xdrive. It appears that these are about 2% taller than OEM and there is a difference in the F and R diameters of 0.6%...I've never seen an exact spec for how close this has to be for xdrive.

F: 19x8.5 ET 33 - 245/40
R: 19x9 ET 44 - 275/35

If anyone could point me to a picture with similar wheel/tire size on an F30 AWD or RWD, I'd appreciate it.

On 20" wheels, the closest match for front and rear tires are:

F 235/35R20 - 26.48"
R 275/30R20 - 26.50"

This is the exact setup I'll have on my car.

The 245/35R20 are 26.75" high, original 225/40R19 (on my car) are 26.09"
Usually, I don't exceed +- .5" (about 2% difference, depending on tires size)

For the 19" wheels:

Original: 225/40R19 - 26.09"
F 235/40R19 - 26.40"
F 245/40R19 - 26.72"
R 275/35R19 - 26.58"

Seems like the F245 - R275 are closer (by 0.04") on 19", but the front will be slightly higher (.14").

To calculate tire ratio:

245 (width of tire) / 40 (tire height ratio in%) R 19 (size of wheel)

(width of the tire) / 25.4 (to convert in inch) * o.(tire height ratio) * 2 (adding the lower and upper sidewall height) + (size of wheel)

245 / 25.4 = 9.65
9.65 * .40 = 3.86
3.86 * 2 = 7.72
7.72 + 19 = 26.72"

Many thanks to those who responded. Since the 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 combination are a couple percent taller than stock, would I be OK going with a square setup of 255/35/19 on the 8.5" ET 33 wheels? Those tires seem to be almost the same as the OEM diameter. Of course I'm open to any good ideas.

Dunno, and maybe others have done it, but isn't 255 too wide for the front ?

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me what size tires you have?

I found a year-old thread where a couple of guys were running 255/35-19 and 245/40-19 both square. The latter was on an xdrive...245/40-19 is the OEM square setup on the F10 xdrive.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=866093

In this thread, the OP had 245/40-19 on RWD, but followed up with a report of a little rubbing.

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=851622

IMO, the 225/40 OEM tire shown below looks a little stretched on the 8x19 wheel and the wheels I'm considering are 8.5". It appears that 235/40-19 is only marginally larger than stock diameter at 26.4". If that's workable, I wouldn't mind filling up the xdrive tire gap a bit. So many tire sizes, so little time.

Did it rubbed at all with this setup ?
And on the picture, any drop or stock RWD height ?
