Best Bang For Your Buck?

Loving my F30 335i sportline minor motor mods are jb4 stage 2, aFe pro5 oiled drop in filter, imitation M performance spoiler, and M performance exhaust.

I'm looking for a bit more growl and torque with an exotic rumble. Been looking at several down pipes. Challenge sounds awesome but pricy! What do y'all recommend for around $300-500 power wise next? Or should I get rid of the drop in in favor of a CAI like Injen or BMS?

I like injens of the deeper tone but BMS looks more stock which is what I like....anything else?

Sorry if you go straight to the source "evolution racewerks" they have them in stock @ $495 without any add-ons. I am clueless as to what the O2 bung or EGT bung do, so I will hold off until I have more time for more research...

Also how difficult is the install?

Will installing a DP void any warranty issues? Part of the reason I went with the M Power PE as it is a BMW part to avoid any hassle.

My aFe Pro 5 oiled drop in removes in seconds. My JB4 Stage 2 takes a bit longer but all easily removable for servicing.

Thanks!

My BMW dealership said the DP would "most likely" void it, he wasn't for sure. But he was the one to recommend and send me the link for aFe so I do not understand why you have to remove that prior to service?

For N55 manufactured after July 2013, the factory catted downpipe is 4" versus the previous 3.5". Perhaps those with more recent cars have enough flow already, can protect their warranties (and the environment) and avoid CEL issues.

I purchased my vehicle at the understanding BMW dealership in midtown Houston because I was able to get the best deal although the drive was out of the way.

The A holes of the investment group that own the other 2 BMW dealerships (one in the southwest the other in the far west of Houston) are not too friendly when it comes to aftermarket unless it's a BMW part. BUT most of that also depends on your service adviser of course...some go that extra mile. Most just punch the clock...

Understandable since if something goes wrong they can just point the finger at the customer instead of trying to solve the problem. I've heard and read too many issues about the other two dealerships which is where I take my car in for servicing because the southwest BMW dealership is literally 10 minutes from me and the midtown dealership is about a 45 minute drive with no traffic.

So I take no chances I remove everything except my M Performance exhaust. Just wondering if I do a DP how hard would it be to remove or install....the exhaust was not that hard to install.

Bastards didn't even change my AC air filter!!! I'm still sore about that LOL. I hate how when I start the car I get a blast of nastiness...one of these days I'll head back.

Downipe can be uninstalled and reinstalled in about an hour on the F30. Easy peasy!

Two questions for you:

1) I heard 2014...and some 2013 after July do not really get any improved performance because the DP is already 4.0", true?

2) The video I watched seemed like it was more difficult then that because they recommended letting the car sit for an hour or so to completely cool, spray some stuff on the "rusty" bolts, and a lot of underpanning taken off. Is this not the case?

I would imagine the hour assumes the car is cool enough to work on. Taking off the under-panning and using penetrating lube shouldn't be "hard".

True, but annoying and time consuming.
