Good catch. Was thinking of my 1997 ZX7R. Currently have a modded gen4 ZX10R. 155mph in the quarter certainly provides a change in perpective on what is fast haha.

that would make sense but it wouldnt happen. if your car is running lean or the pump can't keep up, it'll stall.

It really isn't that serious. your fuel pump basket makes sure the pump stays submerged in fuel even when you're low on fuel. If anything it's better the cycle the fuel through the system so you don't have old fuel sloshing around in the tank. that just make your fuel filter work harder.
If a person really enjoys running out of gas then I suppose to each his own

I don't believe that running low on gas causes any vehicle damage. I have run every car I have ever owned down near empty on every tank and never ever had to replace a fuel pump or anything else. And I keep cars longer than most people.

As for the risk of running out, the gauge is accurate on all cars that haven't ever had the tank opened. Run near but not past zero and you will be fine and save yourself wasted time at the gas station - unless you like hanging out with everyone buying their monster and cigarettes When are you ever more than 5 miles from a gas station anyway. Refilling before the indicator first lights ups seems like a waste of time to me.

The specs show 15.8 U.S. gallons of fuel capacity (gasoline). Over the weekend my HUD was showing 3 miles to empty. I put in 14.7 gallons of fuel. Meaning with 0 miles to empty, you have 1 gallon of fuel in reserve.

The car feels faster when it's low on gas. Probably because it's lighter.

I usually fill up when I get down to the 20-30 mile range and it starts annoying me on all the screens. I don't top off unless I'm on a long trip and I know there could be a long time before I see another gas station.

You can't accidentally run out of gas. The I drive is a conservative nanny.

i actually feel the opposite. after filling up, the throttle pedal feels way more sensitive and it feels like a bump in torque from the engine.

placebos are a hell of a drug.

I do not understand why someone would want to run the fuel down so low. My tank is 10.8 gallons and I refill whenever it gets between half and one quarter full.
