Saddle Brown 340 M-Sport vs Luxury

I'm psyched Saddle Brown is now available on the M-Sport! I'm a big fan of that interior color. I especially like it with an all black dashboard as opposed to having the bottom half of the dash in Saddle Brown.

In reading the Upholstery section of the 2016 Pricing Guide closely, I'm understanding it to say that if you order the M-Sport Line, then you order LCDJ Saddle Brown Dakota Leather with Dark Brown highlight and the entire dash will be black. If you order the Luxury Line then you order LCDY Saddle Brown Dakota Leather with Dark Brown highlight and Brown lower dashboard. That's great news to me as I want to order an Estoril Blue M-Sport with Saddle Brown and really want an all black dashboard.

If you order Saddle Brown with the M-Sport, it also appears you can't have the 4WF Aluminum Hexagon Trim with Estoril Blue matte highlight. That makes sense, because the blue would clash with the Saddle Brown. But you can have all other trims including Aluminum Hexagon Trim with Estoril Black high-gloss highlight. I think the newly available for 2016 Ash Grain Wood Trim with Metal Inlay and Pearl Gloss Chrome highlight trim would look very classy with Saddle Brown. (You can get a good look at this color combo on the current BMWUSA website by building a Luxury line 435i which allows Saddle Brown and Ash Grain. The only difference being the bottom of the dash is brown, not black.)

i agree with every point you make here haha, i always wanted saddle brown but didn't want to get luxury line in order to get it, so i was thrilled when they announced that you can get it with M sport now. And i, like you, didn't want the full brown dash so it works out nicely. I also think the ash grain wood trim is nice, haven't seen it in person but it looks good on the website with the 4 series. I wish that you could get the high gloss black trim thats on my 335i sportline, it basically looks like piano black trim. now THAT would be my perfect combo, but ill settle and be happy with finally having saddle brown

Here's the combo you want. Saddle Brown, Fine-Wood Ash Grain/Chrome, M Sport, 2016 340i.

I love that combo, exactly what I want. You get the sporty M-Sport exterior and a more refined luxurious interior. Maybe when I was 25 I would agreed with those that say no wood with M-Sport but now that I'm older I like the idea of a luxurious looking interior mated to a sporty exterior.

I know it's a personal preference but woah, I hate saddle brown. It looks so odd to me with a black dash.

That's cool. You know what they say, different strokes for different folks.

I'm glad saddle brown is now available in m-sport. I think this is proof that BMW does read these message boards since so many of us have been bitching about it for years.

I guess something like a trim option is a pretty clear issue, simply on user demand.

Many of the forum grumbles are debateable, often opposites of opinion, many are subjective issues.

Many issues won't be addressed, (possibly can't be), due to regulations, safety and BMWs marketing strategy, to name a few reasons.

The ash wood/metal inlay trim was available in 2015. That's how I ordered mine. I really like it.

nice. i went saddle brown with my gc and the piano black trim (CAD$ 500 option) as the wood trim options just didnt look right. i have the bottom dash in sb and i like it. could go either way i guess. with the gc, the m steering wheel is part of the individual line.

Find an owner with the luxury line car who wants the opposite, swap.

Actually, the wrongness is tied to the 8AT, and not the wood on the Msport.
