I red that the plugs are not exactly the same, but they will fit when some edges were cutted right?

Pin connection of the USB Port is different. I dont want to cut the original cables of the car. Is there any adapter I can buy to plug between original cable and NBT Head unit? (Maybe for the other cables too?)

My car is equipped with original Rear View camera and PDC. Is there anything to pay attention?

My 320i is just the same 10/12 HU Entry with usb and bluetooth Without Combox in the trunk , I have retrofitted NBT , you need the display cable the old one have a different size , for the usb you can shave off the groves in the connectors rotate both sides (HU and Armrest ) by 180 degree and it will work without any issue

Hi all
I am quite new to coding, and I need some help regarding NBT Retrofit in my F20
Right now I have the basic iDrive 6.5 inch screen no bluethooth, no usb etc..

Maybe next weekend I will have all the pieces here for the retrofit.


Regarding coding
-- I need to remove current Professional Radio 663 (ok I can do it)
-- replace with 609 Nav Pro (ok I can do it - I think..)

2a.. How will I know if I need to change the FA Date and
2b How can I change the --> FA Date if necessary to newer NBT date as opposed to older CIC date
2c If I change it I have to leave in the new date or I should change it back?

3. The usb is plug and play or I should add it as option?

4. How can I activate bluethooth?
I have to VO Code 6NS Extended Bluetooth?


5. Regarding the hardware retrofit
I am a little confused on how to install the emulator.
I thought I should connect everything and proceed to coding with the emulator installed
Is this right or not

I am almost done with the NBT retrofit of my F20. The car was just with basic idrive..

I have problem to connect the microphone for bluetooth. It is working ok but I don't where and to connect the cable in NBT

I have the following (seller told me that it is ok for NBT)
But it does not fit anywhere as it is. It does not fit at the end of the emulator cable (where it connects to NBT) or with original cable of my car..
How can I connect it or what do I need to continue

I have just retrofitted NBT with emulator and touch controller w/ECU. I removed 609 and 6NH and replaced with 609 and 6NS with E-sys. I can't code HU_NBT. I get up error that steddyman got (page 7-8?). My car is equipped with Harman Kardon. I've read up adding up new cable to the fuse box, but HK had obviously not this line. I've read that you can code HU_NBT with donor VIN. Someone knows how to do it?

Just want to update this case.
I removed the Emulator and VO 696 / DVD CHANGER FOR 6 DISCS, and after that i was free to Code the HU_NBT! No errors. All functions including TRSVC/Reverse cam works. I lost some function, but it doesnt matter. I also have sound now.

Not sure how related my issue was but I'll comment in hopes it helps someone else. I purchased a HU without an Sat Radio tuner and had to remove 655 to get my HU_NBT to code.

I successfully retrofited NBT instead of CIC Business. I FDL coded some options like kombi_cic to high and board computer and trip computer all works fine. Also enable Sports menu and Efficient dynamics menu and is also working fine. The only remaining thing is that when I press button to change driving mode from comfort to sport mode or to eco pro, is there a way to enable corresponding displays to pop up? Eco pro was showing before on CIC unit, but now on NBT i have to choose it manually. Does any one have and idea which parameters i have to code on NBT to do that? Thanks

Looks like MACRO_FDS and DRIVE_MODE_KOMBI both set to aktiv in HU_NBT ecu did the trick

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help regarding CIC MID navigation business S606A retrofit in BMW F20 118i.
I guess the process is similar to NBT retrofit but anyway I have some questions.

Firstly, some information on the car.
It has radio professional (663) and Hands-free Facility W. Usb Interface (6NH).
There is no Combobox.
Build date 11/2011.

I've taken out the AC panel to check the connectors on the back of the HU.
HU number is: 9281913

The following items are connected: Bluetooth, FM antenna, USB/AUX from armrest, LCD display and 40pin socket.

There is no MOST bus in the car.

Hardware I need:

• New HU CIC MID
  
• GPS antenna
• USB socket for the glovebox
• HSD cable between HU and USB
• NBT/CIC emulator

Questions:
1. Since I have no combobox this seems to be P&P. I simply have to plug all connectors from radio professional to new HU, connect GPS antenna, connect emulator, additional USB and that's it. Am I right?
2. Do I need to flash new HU_CIC ecu? Or doing 'Detect CAF for SWE' with ESYS and coding is enough?
3. Which ECUs needs to be coded with new VO beside HU_CIC?

Hi Guys,

I have retrofitted NBT in my E60. All is good and I coded all options, but unit came from the car which had $688 HK sound. I don't want to code it to VO, but code FDL instead to setup up standard stereo. Does anyone know which option I need to change to hear the sound?

If I remember correctly, you have to search for Audio_system. You must change the value from TopHifi to standard...

I have a F23 with retrofited NBT (normal)... everything works ok... but i keep having this error on NBT...

But gps is working...

There is any trick to disable this?

If your vehicle has the basic instrument cluster, the NBT needs to be coded to grab the service info from the car's gateway.

For cars equipped with the expanded cluster, the service info comes directly from the kombi and into the head unit via MOST bus.

Hi all, read almost every post and couldn't figure out what I needed. I have​ F30, came with hu entry Bluetooth,USB, aux. There is combox in the box and it says with telematics. I have it plugged in with Emulator and go coded, touch controller working, Fm working. I understood that I have to disconnect the hsd cable from combox and plug into nbt. My question is about Bluetooth audio and calling. When I try to set up a phone, there is no Bluetooth coming from the nbt. I have tested with several different phones. Also, I saw discuss​ion about the mic, I have to run new wire from the mic to nbt? And I don't think I saw a solution for the aux. Can we just run new wire to the nbt like the mic?
