There's an M badge on the gill? Really?

It has occurred to me that the more M whores out the badge, the less valuable it will become. To the point where it won't matter anymore if it's on a BMW.

From a business standpoint, it's not always a smart move to start cannibalizing your own brand. When a customer walks in to buy a car, the traditional way was to frame them into a vehicle based upon wants and needs. Now when you offer 4 different cars that all do the same thing, it doesn't allow for a concrete purchase. This can lose the customer in the long run because it makes them stall to verify that the car they choose is the one they want.

The M3 and this 4GC are the best two new models BMW introduced in the last couple of years ... The question now which one of these two should I trade my F10 for?

Honestly, I don't care if there is an M badge for a reason but here it doesn't make sense. If it is because it has the M sport package fine, but why does the 3er with M sport not have it? Aren't the M sport upgrades exactly the same on the 3 and 4? So what exactly does the "M" on the 4 signify that is not necessary to signify on the 3? (The only thing I can think of is the extra $2,500 you spent, in which case it should get an ///M$.) It seems to follow no rhyme or reason and that's the thing I don't like.

Wait to test drive and see in the real world before making a decision.

Just my 2 cents

If I didn't already have my F30 and was so happy with it two years later, I'd order an F36 428i. Good looking car.

It's always better to start cannibalising your own before the competitors start doing that. Sooner or later that will happen. Take Apple for an example, why would you put a music player in your phone and kill your own iPod range? If they didn't do it themselves someone else would have taken that business away. Trick is to make sure whatever you cannibalise make more money than your old offering :-))

This is only for non-US models. US m-sport f30/32s don't receive the m badge (thankfully)

Just not feeling the F series. And yes the M3 stole the attention. Hope that M/// badge does not get played out. BMW seems to be going backwards and following other brands IMO. Once the leader and Ultimate driving machine, WTF.
