Another chance to post my car with winters again.

I'd go for black, nice to have something different for a few months.

Need to remember to buy some BMW centre caps when I swap them back on.

What wheels and tyres have you got there?

I'd be interested in a group buy price for some 18"s and suitable tyres (I've seen nothing but good words about Contis as well).

Wheels are TSW Mugello. Tyres Yokohama W drive.

Quite lucky as pretty much no choice in rim and tyre as car was delivered in mid December. Tyre place was a mate of a colleague so did quite well to sort it out.

Damn, car looks nothing like that now though. 9 months and 11k miles later. A few small scratches and light scuffs on the alloys. Nothing noticeable until you get up close, but still.

Get it sorted when it goes in for the service and PPK

Looks Sweet, loving the black rims

Did you go for an Offset wider rears set-up? What size tyres are you running?

This is exactly what I've been looking at, what size wheels did you go for ?
(same all round or wider on rear ?)

I went 18" all round. Good cold, wet and snow performance.

I did notice the trade off though when the weather became weather and drier. But then we had snow in Easter!

Most impressed with the grip in wet though, you could just plough through standing water/puddles with no aquaplaning.

Driving in snow had no probs either, only stuck once and that was because a snow plough had ploughed a load of snow blocking the car park entrance.

EDIT: Yeah sorry my mistake, they're not offset, identical tyre all around.

I think robwils meant are all four wheels the same width or have you stuck with BMW set up of wider at the rear

Its an option. I have a second quote for 2176 so this looks like the pre discount price.
Group buy sounds a good idea. I have a dealer that has given a better price on the 397s with perilli run flats.

I think if we all ask dealers to better each other, then suggest a group buy we could get somewhere here...

I have a deal for 4 sets of:
BMW 397 18 inch alloys:
Pirelli W 240 Sottozero S2 Run Flats (Size: 225/45/18)
Centre caps
UK Delivery included.

The deal is 14% off the list price. I understand this to a cost price to the dealer. I happy to go with this, please let me know if you want the deal via a PM.

The above price is only on 4 sets the dealer needs payment before placing an order from Germany 2-6 weeks ETA

I think it's best to place the order now as the long you wait the high the demand for winter tyres.

All same size. I got them from Selecta Tyre, colleague at work, his mate from school is a manager at one of them. £1200 all in. Non RFT though.

first reply before getting full status - introductory post when this happens.

I'm looking to get a 330d next spring cos' I have Npkian WR D3 winters on my current car to use for one more winter. They are 225/45 R17s and cost £111 each through the Polish company Oponeo.co.uk. As I'll be def. running winter tyres on a BMW (let's not start the old argument!again), I looked at how much I could get winters and alloys for without going below premium brands which include Nokian. I came out with just shy of £1000 for 17 inch NOKIAN WR A3 runflats via Oponeo of course 18s will be more and there's fitting because oponeo are a tyre wholesaler not a garage.

Might be worth a look if you don't know the company.

I like the look of the black wheels on the EBII but do people think they would work on a mineral grey car?
