Anyone bought an F30 in Perth

Just wondering how many fellow West Aussie's have bought or ordered an F30, would be good to know I am not the only one

I have!

Speaking of Perthites I am due to pick up the beast this saturday!!

Went to organise my tint and found out that my guy will be out of action for a month!

He understands I may need to look elsewhere - any recommendations? TKO tinting gets a good rap...

My 328i M-Sport should arrive on Freo on the good ship Fedora tomorrow.

What's the wait on customs clearance and dealer prep?

Another Perthite here! I've got a 320i mineral grey sportline. I love it. It's fast, reliable and the entertainment system is great. I traded in an old Alfa 156 and I have to say that despite the reliability and features of the Bimmer, I miss the fizz and emotion I used to get with the Alfa. The plan is to give the Bimmer to the wife in one year and maybe get a coupe for me. Question is what?

Realistically looking at a used Audi tt or if I stretch a bmw 335 coupe. (55-60k max) I'll still probably miss the alfa fizz though. I note alfa are coming out with the 4c soon but I need 4 seats even if the back two are for hamsters.

I let Auto Classic tint it through Tint A Car - pretty average job, hair stuck in the glass etc.. usually they are pretty good.

Not thudding but very squeaky steering on occasion. Not a big issue and hopefully will get sorted next service.

Other issues include rusty seat base, funny sounding horn, fuel filler cap sometimes doesnt close and on two occasions the automatic start stop malfunctioned. Hopefully autoclassic will look thoroughly at these issues next service.

Hi all!

Just joined this forum yesterday. I bought a 328i Jet Black Lux with other extras. People said not to get a black car as it is hard to keep clean. The answer is true, as white dust particles do show up easily. My previous car was silver and dusts were not as obvious. I do like the black colour for a change.

I have also noticed since it is a non metallic colour, you can see some swirl marks but only if you look at it from certain angles especially from bright sun lights.

I have also identified a few areas on the bonnet which looks 'lighter' in colour when viewing from certain light angle. I am not sure what had caused it, my assumption was maybe who ever prep my car tried to polished that spot too hard? I did see polish dust under the bonnet. The surface looked smooth, I wonder if the clear coat may have been rubbed off a bit on those spots. Is there a way to top up the clear coat? I am thinking of using Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0.

Cheers!

Guzzy

Hi all,

Did you guys experience oil dripping onto head lights? I found a thread on this and many people are having this issue. It happened 3 times to me. I have posted to that thread with photos:

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...8#post13493098

Other people posted oil dripping from the side doors as well.
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697942

I will check mine as I have noticed oil on the side skirt.

They said it is cosmoline used to protect car during transport. I have not seen anything like it!

So annoying as my headlights are starting to be stained by the oil.

Guzzy.

hi all, I think i have excessive wind noise from drivers side a or b pillar - cant figure out - being my first BMW not sure about the noise levels - I asked a guy at auto classic about it and he said it is the mirror and a design flaw - in other threads replacing trims has solved the issue so will be asking them to have a proper look at it shortly.

Any one else with this issue?

Tint tomorrow and opticoat already done - pics shortly

any last minute pics of a black f30 with tint so i can decide the shade?

After reading your post I was like WTF, how random and how shit, thought to myself, glad that doesn't happy on my car..

I went to wash my car, which I do 2 or so times a week and then I saw it.. oil running down the headlight, was majorly annoyed ... my car is always showroom clean and never noticed it, so I am thinking it has just started..

Another thing I noticed , after being away for 5-7 days and it not being driving, I noticed the same oily substance dripping down the middle of the rear bumper in the dead centre... Guessing its the same oil..

Will be adding it to my list for Auto Classic when I eventually get my new steering column and rack fitted.

Hi
I am just about to take delivery of a 328 MSport. Could you advise who did the opticoat for you and how was the finished product. It seems that there are only two authorised opticoat dealers in Perth.
Thanks
