2012 Bmw 328i blue smoke
Hello everyone,
I've had trouble receiving the title and registering the 2012 328i because the previous seller ran into some problems. Long story short, I should be getting the title in the next two days. Because of this, the car has been more or less sitting for the past two weeks. Today, when I went outside to back it up onto my driveway, I noticed a rather disturbing amount of blueish smoke coming out of my tailpipes. The blueish smoke stopped after a couple seconds of running it, however, should this signal any problems? I know that blue smoke usually means oil consumption, however, it has been sitting for the past two weeks. I will be taking it in next weekend to transfer the certified pre-owned warranty. Should I mention anything to the dealer? Again, this is a 2012 328i with 45k miles. It was certified by the previous owner a few months before selling it. Sorry for the long post. Thanks! |

Are you 100% sure its blue smoke and that there is oil consumption?
My guess is it's just some white smoke from condensation. I wouldn't worry unless there is oil consumption that is out of spec |
