Killer Deal on these light weight rims from Tire Rack!

Personally I'm not a fan of how they look but in the pics below they look great on the F30 platform), but god damn they're light!

So you might be thinking hang on $2400 for a set of rims isn't cheap, but these are a forged rim and are lighter than the big dollar HRE, BBS FI's that are 3 x 4 times the price of these breytons!

BBS FI:

The 19 x 10.5" rim is 19.8 lbs, the breyton 20" x 10" rim is quoted as 17.7!

thanks

so say 10 pounds a wheel, 4.5kg, total 18kg saving. I wonder what that means in terms of performance/handling. Probably insignificant in the real world but might mean a lot on the track.

I've run rays TE37 and advans on my previous cars and you can definately feel the difference in handling and braking. The car seemed to pull up a lot sooner, improved steering response.

Running lightweight forge rims on my motorbike made a huge difference also, when i had them installed and wrapped it on in 1st gear the front wheel lifted easily under power.

They say per kg saved in unsprung mass = something like 10kgs overall i.e if you save 10kg in lighter rims this in turn is like taking a 100kg from the overall weight of the car

Yeah it's the unsprung weight that makes all the difference.

Given how the car's suspension is dialed in to work with the factory gear, changing rims would make me want to modify the whole suspension. It's like hammering down a paint tin lid, you hit down one edge and the other edge pops up

17.7 lbs that's amazingly light for forged when considering the BMW 405M forged wheels are at 24lbs
