Sold the E46 for an F30 Msport (build thread)
Hey guys, on Monday Oct 25th, I officially sold the E46. I've had her for nine years on the dot and with a promotion at work and time for something newer I was able to sell it for a decent price and acquired my new car during the selling process.
On Fanatics for nine years and ten on Bimmerfest. I have made many many new friends that I still carry to this day either in person or helping them out online. Started with a stock 330i, no sport package, only premium package. After years of various modding, few different bumpers I finally obtained the look I was happy with on the car. M-tech 2 all around, OZ lightweight wheels, tinted windows, black grills and a clean interior. A lot of my miles put on the car were from going to car meets all over the Northeast. And many of those meets were setup by me which I'm proud to say all went well. In 2013 I drove with my friend Jakub from NYC to LA to Bimmerfest West. What an incredible journey.... 6000 miles in 10 days, tiring driving but worth every second with the reward of seeing this beautiful country. - 2013 F30 328i 58k miles - M sport - 6 speed - Estoril blue Car already has tinted windows, black grills, a prototype Injen exhaust, extra multimedia interface and front camera. The sale came with a set of winter wheels with snow tires, weather tech trunk mat and OEM BMW rubber mats for the cabin. My friend and I drove to Boston on Saturday to check it out and I fell in love with the car. I had BMW do a PPI and I drove the car today from Boston to NYC today and I had a blast. So comfortable but yet it can hold its ground in the corners and the power is more than enough for me. Of course I will slowly mod it but with a decade of owning my E46 I know what mistakes not to make when modding so each purchase will be tactically planned/thought out. For those interested in what mods I plan to do here is a rough draft list which also includes any maintenance that I will do now. This year: - Engine, transmission and diff oil changes within two weeks - Code the auto start/top OFF - D1S Osram CBI bulbs - BMW wheel locks - Cabin filter - Motorized front plate holder - Probably an Injen intake or a high flow drop in filter - Gofastbits diverter valve - Wrap the wood trim to something else. Not sure yet as to what or if to get the OEM silver trim Early next year: - Front brakes or BMW performance brakes all around - OEM LCI tail lights - Front bumper lip - Carbon trunk lip - Maybe a finned rear bumper diffuser - Apex SM10 18x8.5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires - Widescreen navigation screen retrofit Last edited by Solidjake; 11-10-2018 at 06:47 PM.. |

Nice shots, the car looks clean! I also came from an E46 (330i ZHP) and so far I'm satisfied with F30. Sometimes I do miss the handling and feel of the E46 but I think all that will change after I get my Springs + Shocks installed on my F30.

First of all, congratulations on your new car. It looks great and I'm glad you are happy with the transition from the E46.
Having had two E39 540's for a total of 9 years that I loved, switching to the F30 was a big change. Like you, I embraced the change. I think the F30 with M-sport with go flat tires is an amazing car. Yes, the F30 feels a bit different to drive, mostly the electonic steering. But it didn't take a month for me to get used to the difference and I haven't looked back. 4 years now with my F30 and its all smiles. Best of luck with your new ride. |

Looks fantastic! LCI tails are mandatory, I gotta get em for mine.
Hey random question I'm noticing your gauge clusters have the small lcd in the center. Don't the 328's and up have the lcd that stretches across the lower side of the speedometer and rpm gauge (or is that an option)? Mine for example:

Good catch ALP's. I still have to install the rear heads but I have to figure out how to trim the bottom of the trunk lid to run the wires through.

Are you on RDF? You need 3 heads to tame the dragon, or a TX head

Nice man!
LCI tails look so good. I really want to grab some but hoping the price comes down as they become more available. Also, curious on the shadow edition tails once they are available to buy. Looks like you can build a Sport shadow edition on bmw website. |
