Wow.... I wonder what I would of gotten in Eco with my Hybrid. I just drove 4600 miles across country and only got 28. But I just CAN'T drive in Eco. Most of the way I was +90 and trip comp had average speed in the low/mid 70's. I ran through Texas at Dusk chasing a few others in the low 100's. a few stretches 130+. Was very happy with the 28. Pretty amazing MPG some of you are getting. But I bought the Hybrid for the extra HP not the fuel economy. The only time I have messed with hyrib got did get low mid 40's.

Same here. My only issue is that my leg/foot/ankle will cramp up after about 4 hours straight. If you set the cruise at a speed slightly higher than the rest of the traffic on the road then it's a bit more engaging...

Eco Pro helps a bit more on the highway if you have an ActiveHybrid -- it raises the all-electric driving limit from 37mph to 47mph, and shuts off the engine and disengages it while letting off on the accelerator or going downhill up to 100mph. Those things help me get another 2mpg or so on the highway. The DIS stabilizes at around 37-38mpg when cruising on the highway in Eco pro. Around 35mpg in Comfort.

35mpg is achievable in an xdrive 35i on the highway. I think the main benefits to AH3 on hway mileage is when gunning it like the post above by jparker I doubt anyone without the AH can achieve 28mpg driving like that.

Agreed -- the boost, assist, and regen benefits the most when the terrain or driver demands constantly changing engine output. The hybrid system helps to smooth that a bit and get you closer to the kind of mileage you'd get by driving more smoothly.

I got 33 mpg last week using comfort and with cruise control set at 75 (in my 328i over a distance of 287 miles, only stopping once for lunch). I filled up before leaving and nearly jumped for joy when miles remaining on the gas gauge said 547! It only used a half tank for 287 miles with lots of ups and downs from Idaho to Seattle.

I wish I could get 287 miles out of a half tank.

My best is 195

It was a very nice surprise. Though I usually get 26 around town anyway (highway/city is pretty equal). When I fill up it normal says 410 till empty.
