Oh! Well, thank you.

Glad I asked because I truly just didn't know what to make of that remark. I haven't heard it put that way before. I'm now quite pleasantly surprised with what I've discovered. I'll use your metaphor at some point, no doubt.

All the best.

Thanks for the advice.

I work in the City so I sometimes drive in other times I take the train then the subway and plus walking in manhattan. My job is high end wall street type so it needs to be high class, I work with some guys that wear $5,000 suits a day but being I am just starting out and am kinda the new kid on the block they don't expect me to be doing that (yet).

I don't want the pants to be dragging on the floor on the gross city streets but I also can't be walking into work looking like a bum and half made up.

I find that half of wall street is how you BS people and the other half how you look. When meeting with clients at hotels and restaurants and stuff (all 5 star) I have to play the part and look good and I find if I'm dressed good they'll take me more serious being I am still on the younger part of the the finical district and new.

I better start making those sales to afford this new lifestyle I got myself in.

NY10 about your pant cuffs dragging on the floor - don't be one of those who have a bunched up lower pant leg hanging low down by the bottom part of the shoe heel. Do have a slight break in the front. If you want to know how the pants hem should look - check out pictures of Prince Charles or Prince William

Nordstroms, then I get them tailored. There's a local tailor around here that does a kick ass job.

I won't really pull the trigger on any suits unless they're throwing a big sale though...even then they're still pricey but nice.

When I was in the Philippines, I had some custom tailored suits made. They are not cheap. They are excellent quality, for what you pay. I mean put it this way, our hotel was $500/night and an ice cream cost $6. There was a Lamborghini dealership in walking distance. But we asked locals for where we could get some suits made. they were like $300 each, but you know, would cost a lot if made here. Pants $35, again, quality vs. what one would pay here.....just don't gain weight lol (in case you're over 30)

Because they will last you a very long time, and the fine wool, and craftsmanship is well worth it. Just make sure whatever you purchase, have it tailored. It doesn't matter how much you pay for a suit, it has to fit right.
I had this logic.

Until I put on weight......

Considering I wear suits every single day, most of mine are bespoke that have been custom made. I do have a couple off the shelf ones as well that I really liked the fitting off without altering them. The designer ones I have get less time than bespoke as well. Nothing beats a suit that's custom tailored to fit to your body, not even the higher end designers that I have like Zegna and Boss etc.
