I'll email him right now and see if he can provide his reference for confirming it. It took him almost a full 24 hours to get back to me when I asked. I'll update when I hear back from him.

This is a word for response from the CA I was working with at Sterling. At the top is the email I sent him, and his response is below that.

The email I sent (chopped the part referencing the NAV discussion)
Quote:
Thanks so much for your time. I really do appreciate you looking into all this for me. Can you possible confirm your reference for the week 45 navigation changes? Was there a bulletin posted, some sort of BMWUSA release, sales manger confirmation, etc that I maybe be able to reference.

His response (chopped the part referencing the NAV discussion)
Quote:
You are very welcome. And yes for sure I can confirm after speaking directly to my sales manager that there will be changes after week 45 in November affecting the 3 series models.

The navigation system will be upgraded and the 3 series will receive the new upgraded navigation system as it is present in the 2013 5 series in the case you would like to go and check it out and play a little bit with it. I sadly can not send you and kind of bulletin or online confirmation of it because those bulletins also have dealer intern information which we can’t give out.
I know this doesn't help us as much as if we had a press release or bulletin, but I consider it pretty promising. I'm going to go ahead and place my order for a post week 45 build I suppose.

So precisely what week would be Week45 in terms of BMW build allocation weeks?

Week 45 starts on the 4th (5th if starting Monday week) of November. I am in Germany and buying my M Sport thru military car sales. Everything is lined up for the new Nav for this week, this coming directly from Munch via my CA here in Germany, who speaks German.

Is yours a US-spec vehicle? I take it your CA found official confirmation that wk45 prod will have new nav?

Hey everyone, I just ordered my F30 M sport this past Saturday and found this thread yesterday! Does anyone have an idea if my build will be in November production? Thanks

Really impossible to say for sure. Best to just ask your CA. If needed, they can push the build back a week or more.

Some people have filled their November slots already. I, on the other hand, am still waiting for my dealership to get their November allocation. Should hopefully get a call this week.

Thanks, my dealer seems to not know anything at all about the new nav! A little frustrating, but they offered to hold up the order if I want a December delivery

I spent a lot of time calling around and this is what I was told today.

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...6#post12795476

I sure hope this is misinformation. They have an order in the system for a PW46 car for me. I sure hope the new Nav coming to US is on schedule!

**UPDATE**Dealer just read to me an email forwarded to them on 8/9/2012 by their BMW rep advising that US F30's will NOT get the new Nav beginning November production or at all during MY13. The email referenced misinformation that appears on several websites and advises that it is possible Europe builds will get the new Nav during MY13. It went on to reiterate that US cars will NOT get the new Nav for MY13. They read the entire email to me over the phone but would not send to me. He assured me this is an official answer from NA to all reps. The reps forwarded to dealership Management.**

It sooooooo annoying that every time I am up for a new BMW I am confronted by something new that is NOT coming to the US market. NA, thanks for driving me one step closer to a Cadillac ATS. I probably should suck it up and support American engineering and manufacturing. Its just a big step I have to carefully consider....

They are buying my car back and putting me in a 335msport for less money than my 328 each month

Dealer is buying my car back due to the steering vibration issue. Who did you think this is?

Well, let me be the bearer of bad news and let you know that I've test driven new 2013 328 and 335 and they all had a wobble in the steering a bit over 45mph. You let go of the wheel and it dances back and forth.

328 and 335 with and without VSS. Sad, but true.

I didn't find it annoying as once you grabbed the wheel, you didn't feel it. I was wondering if that changes as the tires wear....

I suspect MY14 or the LCI will have a new rack or other damper mods to properly address this.

BTW, the ATS V6 I drove had no such wobble, it handled like a beast and had no body roll. Kinda felt like my E90 MSport. Sure, the CUE system is odd, but it seems GM is dedicated to improving it. They even promote software upgrades coming in the ATS brochure. You cannot deny supporting US industry is a nice thing to do if you live Stateside!
