Yeah the car dies at 6k rpm, it's pretty annoying that you have to shift manually during wots because the transmission wants to go to 6500-7000 rpm before shifting.

It's actually a pretty good question. Even though power does go flat around 6k, depending on gear ratios you may benefit in the next gear when winding it higher....or shifting sooner for that matter.

+1, don't just think about the power curve on the gear you're in, think of the next gear and how far down that will drop on the power curve. As above, just wringing it out a little more in the drop-off zone might actually be quicker as the following gear will be higher up the curve and so on the power better when it engages. All marginal though. 6300-6500rpm might be nice? I agree the drop-off becomes rather severe on the 35i at 6500-7000rpm so probably not worth red-lining it.
