Great news, thanks for the notice, hope it fixes the email problem.
Shiva, just download the update from BMW website, copy to a USB, import into car via iDrive, Vehicle Settings menu I think. |

The updates are different. I checked the global site for my car (still in transit) and it says its already up to date and showed a completely different version numbering scheme to an August production non-NBT car that I also checked, which did have updates available.

I did. It says my software is up to date. Anyone else with NBT able to verify?

Can you check your new Nav menu in the Settings screen and see if there's an option for Software Update? If so, what does it say? |

I'm getting basically the same e-mail behavior with this release (1006) as the last release (1005).
I can get texts, but e-mails show up in the "Current Office" screen in the texts count. E-mail count is always zero. E-mails do show as e-mail in the message list though. I can receive e-mails, but I still have to change the number of unread items in the iPhone mail notification screen after turning the car on in order for subsequent e-mails to be received. This may be more of an IOS issue than BMW, but I don't know for sure. The car still does not show previously received texts or e-mails; same as before (not that I was expecting that to change...) Anyone have any better luck than me? I'm still not positive that I have all of the settings right in both the iPhone and the car. |

My car has the NBT, and when I type my VIN into the site for 1006, it says my car is up to date. I'm still a few weeks from picking up my car, to confirm what's actually loaded on it, but I imagine it would be this newest version.

I'm pretty sure this update only applies to the older CIC based cars, not the NBT ones.
The newer NBT units have a built-in combox, so the firmware is probably different. That's why they ask you to put your VIN in on the web site so that you don't try to update your car with incompatible firmware. |

I applied this update to my MY12 today and have two observations.
First, BMW makes the update process as easy as pie. Second, it didn't do a damn thing to improve integration between my iPhone 4S running iOS 6 and my car. In fact, it made text messages -- which used to appear -- stop appearing.

2) Only load the single .bin file from BMW 3) Use USB port in center console. Wait up to 1 minute for update to show on screen. 4) Get better quality USB thumb drives. |
