Rooftop cargo system for F31 wagon

For my 2018 wagon, would like to get a roof top cargo system for additional space for long distance trips. (and if possible add on components to haul a kayak in the future but it is a secondary need compared to cargo *******. Know nothing about cargo system. Your insights would be much appreciated.

For the F31 wagon, which models of rack and cargo box are the best? Thule, Yakima or BMW branded or others? Who makes BMW cargo system anyway?

I’m a Thule fan even though I only have the crossbars. I’m looking for a cargo box as well so we can start taking my F31 instead of our big SUV on road trips.

I also heard the BMW brand is just a Thule rebrand with a price bump.
