The M Performance Ed. (a.k.a. M3/M4 wannabe) MSRP is $66K and $70K for the 335i and 435i. The MSRP is $74K and $75K for the M3 and M4, (a.k.a., the real thing, not a wannabe). That a difference of $8K and $4K. Not a whole lot of difference when you're paying at these prices. I don't care if you add paint of real 24K Gold and 21" wheels blessed by the pope, it's still not an real M car. An M car is in a different league performance-wise than a suped up 3/4 Series. A different class of car. In this price range, I would take a "stripper" M3 over a flashy 335i each and every day. |

Here, for reference, is what a "stripper M4" would cost in the US. $65,125 MSRP.
At that price, keep in mind, you conspicuously don't get leather, 19" Wheels, or the good stereo, let alone any of the technical toys. So it is possible to undercut a highly optioned 435 with a stripper M4, but that M4 would only appeal to a certain kind of buyer.

I really couldn't care if it is a full blown M car or not ! it will be my car to my spec and as individual as i want it to be, you spend your money and you make your choice. Everybody said i was crazy spending nearly 50k on what they could only see as a 1 series coupe when i bought the 1M. I made a good choice then and i am sure that i will enjoy what ever i spend MY money on this time. The whole you could have gotten a X, Y or Z for $$$$ is irrelevant until YOU are spending your own money on your own vehicle choice and then i say to whatever you decided to buy, enjoy it, have fun and be safe. I said SEVERAL times I'm not debating which car is "Better" or "Real" or whatever. All I am illustrating is that an M3/4 is more expensive in Canada than in the US and that when similar specs (most of which are tech driven) are put on the M3/4 the price comes to about $100K CAD. And that the value on the M-Perf cars is actually pretty good when you look at the cost of the individual components. I didn't set the pricing, BMW did. I don't give a crap what car you drive or wish you could drive or whatever. It's your money, get whatever you want. Just don't chastise others for the decisions they made that were right for them by referring to cars as "wannabe" M cars. Everyone who actually knows what an "M" car is, knows that the M-Perf cars are not M cars and they're not trying to be. Fact is, they are still very nice cars and a good value for the components that come with them. In other words...don't be such an a-hole. |

I agree completely LSB...
I've owned an E36, E46 and E90 M3s. Right now I'm driving a 435i xDrive 8 AT speced much the same as these cars, except I'm on 19" wheels with different paint and trim. This is the car I want right now: it's no "wannabe M". (Although I certainly miss the carbon fiber interior trim from my E92 M3, and would prefer the piano black trim in these cars.)

Because the vehicles come factory equipped like that, the total value is part of the vehicle residual, so, no you do not need to pay it via downpayment. If you were to buy a base model and add the accessories at the dealer, you could not finance all of it.

Before stating the above, maybe you should go drive one, then drive a base 335i. Those of you who have driven both will know what I mean.

On another note, don't know why anyone would buy an M3/M4 with a manual transmission. My 2 cents. =D |

Ordered about three weeks ago, just got my VIN today. Will be tracking closely, and expect another 4-6 weeks minimum (dealer originally told me Aug 30 delivery but I knew that was optimistic at best). 2015 335 xDrive Laguna Seca Blue. I'll update the thread when I have an actual delivery date.

Thanks for the reply, that date is the same one I was told last year and I don't think the car actually showed up at the dealer until end October or early November. Hopefully things go better this year. I like the looks of the white 435 coupe.

What's the point? It's not like you're getting any limited edition parts plus I don't think its any cheaper than me just getting those parts on my own. Also whats the deal with the X-drive only 335i.

It's obviously not for everybody, but I think it's a cool car. Keep in mind those prices are Canadian - usually about 10-20% higher than the US. I tried to build a comparable car up here and the performance edition was pretty good value, even before you factor in the individual paint color(colour).

So for those of us in the US, just to make sure I'm reading this right, they basically read the forums, looked at what everyone was adding from PIA stuff, and rolled it into a package? Doesn't even seem to save you any money from what I can tell...maybe $1k?
Anyone have pics of the steel grey in person under sunlight yet? |
