Could you share your thoughts on the BMW's electric steering vs the Porsche's since you have both?

I've heard so many great things about Porsche's electric steering, but I've only heard responses like yours about BMW's.

The boxster s is definitely my dream car

Buy a 435 x drive with MPPK and you change your mind. You will be in your dream car.

Well the Boxster and the 435 are totally different cars so a comparison isn't really fair. But as far as the steering, the Boxster really doesn't feel different than a hydraulic system. The boost doesn't change with speed. It just feels great and natural. It's like the car reads my mind and goes exactly where I want it to. When I push it or auto cross it, I feel as if I know exactly where the wheels are at all times and can make minute corrections without thinking about it.

Prior to the Boxster I had a 2003 Z4. The steering on that car was just dreadful. It gave no feed back. When I threw out the run flat tire for RE11s, it made a world of difference, but it was still just short of horrible. The 335 steering was pretty darn good. It gave good feedback and had nice weight and feel.

I've only driven the 435 a couple of hundred miles and I'm not pushing it since it's not broken in so I can't give a fair assessment yet. But the steering is too light (a bit too light) for my preference and I doesn't give nearly the feedback of the Boxster (I didn't expect it to). Going into corners, you turn, see what the car does, and then correct a bit. I think that sums it up best. With the Boxster, you just will it to go exactly where you want and it does. It's unlike any other car I ever had.

It quite different than the Boxster. Again, I don't think it's fair to put them head to head. The 435 is not a sports car and doesn't feel like one. It is a sports coupe and is excellent at that. On the other hand, my Z4 was supposed to be a sports car and I thought it missed the mark by a long shot.

Maybe, I shouldn't have posted this, because, I don't want to start a debate. They are two very different cars. That's why I have both. Both are great at what they are intended to be.

Are you in Sport+?

Sport+ steering is almost TOO HEAVY for my liking.

But, like you, I'm comparing it to a totally different car w/ electric steering, my Honda S2000.
