If you look at the part number it says that the brakes are the same on the M Sport brakes and the M3 so then the disc should work too.
But this might be old data though as it sounds weird. Why would a 328i have the same brakes as a M3. http://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-ersatzt...er=34116799469 |

Front brake caliper part numbers:
F30 low power models M Sport brakes (340mm rotors) left - 34 11 6 799 465 right - 34 11 6 799 466 F30 high power models M Sport brakes (370mm rotors) left - 34 11 6 799 469 right - 34 11 6 799 470 F80 stock brakes (rotor size unknown) left - 34 11 6 799 469 right - 34 11 6 799 470 Rear brake caliper part numbers: F30 all models M Sport brakes (345mm rotors) left - 34 21 6 799 461 right - 34 21 6 799 462 F80 stock brakes (rotor size unknown) left - 34 21 6 860 737 right - 34 21 6 860 738 The front calipers has the same part number on high power F30 models with M Sport brakes as on F80 with stock brakes. The rear calipers differs. I haven't found rotor sizes for stock F80 brakes, but since it comes with 18" wheels stock the front rotor can't be larger than 370-375mm to make room for the calipers. If you can verify that the front rotor size on F80 are 370x30mm there is a good possibility that they fit also on F30. |

i have seen them irl at the dealer and they looked a bit bigger but is it from the drilled holes or is it really bigger by 10mm ;I'm not sure that an eye can tell 1cm+ on a 37cm diameter :x

On the German BMW Website they mention the rotor sizes for the F80/F81:
http://www.bmw.de/de/neufahrzeuge/M/...hrdynamik.html M Compound Brake Front = 380mm Rear = 370mm M Carbon-Ceramic Brake Front = 400mm Rear = 380mm |

Has any tired this yet? I'm pretty sure the M3/4 rotor is lighter, looks better and is about the same price as the 370mm rotor.

The M3/4 rotor would be definitely lighter because it has the aluminum hat.
I'm skeptical that you would be able to fit them to an F3x because the mounting position looks different meaning the hub/knuckle is different but this is purely based on the pictures I've seen (below). Notice how the F3x caliper is positioned compared to the F8x caliper; F3x is angled towards the front wheres the F8x is angled towards the rear. Similar can be said about the rear calipers. I'd still love to try it myself though... lol F32 F80 |

Follow up from my last post; looks like the upright/carrier for the hubs are definitely different part... they look completely different and have different part numbers based on realoem. I highly doubt the F8x rotors would work on F3x vehicles without other mods... not worth it IMO, you're maybe better off getting the M Performance rotors + upgraded pads if you have M Sport Brakes from factory.

I've tracked a few times with the M Perf brakes (apparently same as the M sport but with dimples on the rotors).
I had an impossible time really beating those brakes up on Lime Rock...4 20 minute sessions where I would drop speed from 118 to 60//80 to 40 multiple times. No fade. No shudder. Pretty much perfect. Unsure how M3 brakes can exceed that??!!

Both rotors have aluminum hats. Not sure about the weight. M3/4 rotors are no go on non M F-chassis due to different knuckle as you have stated.
