Internet Access with iPhone 5
Can the iPhone 5 be used as an access point for the car? I have searched the posts in this forum and am still confused. The thread on updating software to UPD01006 seems to indicate that the phone can be used to connect the car to web. Is that right?

My impression is that the only browsing sort of web connection is through the BMWconnected app - simplified Facebook, Twitter, and news about yachts, golf, and car racing. And for that, one needs to have the Connected app running.
I don't see a way to Google, for example, or read the Seattle Times. |

I guess the Google Local search is done through BMWconnected app. I'm confused because I haven't been able to find how that data is coming down to the car. The Google Local search was what led me to believe I was missing something in terms of connectivity.
