I dont know about the grey fading quicker or not. But i have an Estoril Blue. I do think the grey wont look dirty as much as Estoril Blue would look when dirty. haha. Originally I planned on getting Grey, but then i saw Estoril Blue it was too amazing.

Good Question
Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so obviously different colors appeal to different people. Get what you like. As you can see from different cars on the forum, all of the colors look great on the M-Sport IMO. I'm a bit partial to my Mineral Grey, but the red, white, black and, of course, EBII look great also. Just depends on the look you want for your car.

Here's my thoughts on weighting of colours... depending on what you want in your car, this might matter to you too.
EBII - good because it's exclusive to M-Sport. Mid-shade level so it can hide some dirt. Stands out. That might be good or bad for you. AW - Good points are that it highlights the intake and the front for the M-Sport. Also, black splitters would kick on this colour. Dirt/snow salt may show up Black/Dark Colours - good for either stealth look or more luxury looks. But if you love the front of the M-sport, this can hide a bit. Dirt, snow, salt definitely shows up here. Greys - good at hiding dirt. Good middle ground for some of the above points. My list to decide on were EBII, AW or Tanz. Which means I didn't know what I wanted because they all serve different purposes. In the end EBII and the matching interior won out.

Non metallic colors will fade before all others (in the case of the 2013 MSport that means Alpine White only). There's no reason Mineral Grey would fade earlier than EBII, other than the theory that dark colors fade before lighter colors. My 2010 E90 MSport in Space Grey looks as good today as it did the day I took delivery. Shines like a new penny! That said, I love EBII. My 1997 M3 was EB. Keep in mind that the way cars are painted today its more like a powder coat/electrostatic finish than the old fashion wet (water/solvent) paint finish you may be accustom to. |

Possibly, but even in places like Arizona, New Mexico, or Texas it would take a long time for that to happen. If one washes, waxes, and polishes correctly fading shouldn't be an issue regardless of the color. Personally I lean towards the Mineral Gray, as I don't really like any of the interior colors with EBII. If they had a two-tone oyster/black than that would go great with EBII.

+1 Mineral Grey and Estoril Blue are my favorites. Alpine White looks amazing as well but it just makes that damn hood line so noticeable, why did you have to start designing the hoods that way BMW!

Estoril is the obvious choice, but Melbourne red is also very very nice - even if it may be "arrest me red" This is bremborio's car
And Alpine white always looks good (when it's clean..) This Bora's car
