Thanks guys. Mines already on the ship coming on the UNDINE ship.. it arrives in Australia soon in 5 days or so I think, and then a couple more days to Melb.

On the VIN website the only thing i can find USB related is this

S6NHA FREISPRECHEIN. M. USB-SCHNITTSTELLE Hands-free with USB interface

Not sure if that means I will end up with no Blutooth

Did a little digging and apparently the codes to look out for are S6NH or S6NL

Cars are most probably in the outside car park. Loading and moving out today!!!!
All aboard the Glorious Leader!!

Shame the WWL website page doesn't actually reflect that at this time. Very slow updating their site.

I do expect to see our cars onboard the vessel update soon.
It better be!!!
Cheers

Brakes would be good I reckon. The only thing I really miss from my E82 is the six pot Brembo's.

I have already purchased, the BMW BBK, BMW grills, roof racks, CF mirror caps, rear side and rear sun shade, oil filters, BBS wheels/tyres and the car hasn't even arrived yet.

dont bother buying locally, just buy from overseas even with GST and customs tax it was a huge saving...

Any websites you recommend?

I'm sure installation fees would fetch abit as well? Any estimates?

So finally, the official word from WWL's website has my car on board the vessel.
Hoping for smooth travelling through the Indian Ocean & Bight till it reaches Melbourne on 2nd October.

My car should be right next to yours. Definitely all aboard this time. My car arrives at Fremantle Dock on 26th September! Only another 13 days! I wonder how long it takes from arriving at the dock to delivery....The wait is almost over

When I had to tell my dealer as to the whereabouts of my car (when it was waiting at Durban wharf a few days ago) as well as what ship it had been allocated, he did tell me that it can take up to 3 weeks before they take delivery of some cars.

Not sure why, but don't the cars come out from customs to a preparation centre of sorts to clean off the shipping goo? Or does the dealer 'take care' of that aspect? Don't they check for shipping damage and attend to it as well?

Maybe it won't take terribly long after arriving in our respective ports. Let's hope not.

Going back to tracking the car, he was so impressed with my knowledge, that he added the WWL website to his favourites and instantly looked up another car he sold. Even though it was the very next VIN number, it seems it did not make it onto the GL ship.

He also likes bmwvin.com I introduced him to.

I should be charging him for all this info.

I wonder if the ship's crew leave the light on for the cars during shipping as it can be mighty lonely in the dark for so many days.

Took me a bit over two weeks to get my car after it got off the ship.

Remember, ships can get delayed and there can be customs delays.

Shipping goo.. Gosh I remember going to the dealer to look at my Z4 back in 2009 when it arrived at the dealer, the guy said be aware that it has not been cleaned or prepped. LOL the car looked liked they dug it out of Pompeii. It was deep sea blue buried beneath the dirt brown.

Its called cosmoline, and I still have the stuff leaking onto my headlights from somewhere under the bonnet. Not uncommon judging by a couple of threads on here.
