Is this delay only with diesel engines or with petrol engines as well? This is absolutely crazy. Who will buy new cars then?

There's always those on the lot. That's where most production goes to, not custom orders. Just one of the dealers in Boston, for instance, has 862 new BMW in stock. If you keep your eyes open you can usually find what you want, or at least close enough to it. I narrowed down what model I wanted, with a range of options and colors, and within a few weeks one popped up. If you absolutely positively must have a custom build you're at the mercy of the production schedule.

My latest 335d F30 that I collected in Sept also only took 6 weeks to arrive at the dealership. The same dealership has told me my 335d GT will arrive in April at the latest!

The dealer you ordered off must have demo vehicles on order so in theory they should be able to put your order into one of their build slots and vice versa? I may be wrong but I thought that was possible, and that would explain how some folks builds happen within days of ordering, and others wait a month before anything happens.

Did you order your GT in response to the recent raft of mega deals on the bigger engined models?

This is the screenshot I received from my dealer with personal information deleted. To be honest, I don't think BMW know themselves the exact production week else they wouldn't keep changing it every couple of weeks so here's to hope.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as massively impatient, it's just that I need a car to replace my current liabilitymobile which is causing me far too much trouble for what it's worth.

The GT is super sweet though and will totally be worth the wait for the car itself, I'm sure of it. You guys seem to be having great fun and I want in too!

Yes, I came in on the deal bandwagon although I need the custom spec as I have a strong requirement for M Sport Suspension deletion for the sake of mid/lower back support. I was initially looking at the 1 Series and 2 Series Active Tourer which may have resided in my budget at some point but I feel like the 3 GT is a winner for my needs. I'm not going to lie though, I wouldn't have taken it without the recent deals for budgetary reasons.

I'm just an impoverished northerner so I wouldn't have ordered a 3 litre GT if it hadn't been a cracking deal either.

I remember your post from before just messing with you.

Very nice ride you have there.

I'm sure you will enjoy you GT when it arrives. Maybe not as thrilling as your F30 but it does have its own niche market.

To be honest I am happy with my F30 335d (my second one now), just time to replace the the Audi, was looking at a 335d touring, but the price I was given on the 335dGT was unbelievable and after checking out the space in one, I was sold.

When you do receive your GT could you post back here and let us know your findings and feelings about the GT.

Very nice, I think you will enjoy the change of driving position in the GT.

Seems like you have had quite a few 3 Series, I am really looking forward to your feed back on your GT.

As for myself I have had 2 x 3 series so decided that my next car would be a 4 GC or a 5 series.

I test drove the 4GC and to me it felt like a 3 series to me nothing special except for looks.

So I test drove a 5 series and for some reason it didn't appeal to me. I was just about to leave the show room when I spotted the 3 GT I took it for a test drive and decided there and then that I wanted one.

Oh man, doomsday I'm in love with your wheels on both your new and old 335d models!

Wow, I ordered my 330d GT around the end of October, beginning of November. I will definitely be giving my dealer a call on Monday morning to see what the status is of my delivery too.

On another note, some crazy 330e deals flying around.

Helping a family member order a 330e M Sport Saloon on a Personal Contract Hire on 6+23, 8k miles @ £240/month inc. VAT, options to be decided. GB Vehicle Contracts is the place but spoke to Sytner and I believe they have something very similar too if anyone's interested in a hybrid.

Just before I ordered the 335d GT, I got some prices on a 330E, it was coming out at £200 a month more than the 335d GT. Looks like there are some good deals on 330E now. I was looking at business contract hire, 3+33, 35k p.a and that was £459.00 for 335d M Sport with Plus pack, adaptive suspension and heated seats. Same spec for 330E was £650.00.

330e is cool, but my personal opinion is that the hybrid still has many disadvantages. Power vs weight not favourable vs 330i and then you have to charge the battery which is cool but surely annoying after a while? I think it has a lot of advantages too but you can't beat a 335d for power and economy. I have the (probably older) version of that engine in my 740d and it's absolutely wonderful.

tl;dr I'd take the 330e for the deal right now, but price no object I'd hold out and take a top petrol or diesel.
